About the Author

Ray Main originally trained as an architectural photographer, but now specializes in interiors photography. His work is regularly featured in leading interiors magazines, including House & Garden and French Elle, and newspapers such as The Sunday Times.

Elizabeth Wilhide is the author and co-author of a number of successful books on interior design, decoration, and architecture. As a contributor, she has worked on a number of Terence Conran's books, including "The Essential Housebook," "Small Spaces," "Kitchens," and "The Ultimate Housebook." Her own books include "The Flooring Book," "Materials," "New Loft Living," and "Eco."

I found this book to be a valuable resource in planning the lighting for our new home. The pictures are beautiful and packed with ideas. The text is practical and enjoyable to read. I discovered a lot I didn't know about how to use light for function and style.
