Book Description

January 2011
This is the story of how God has used Randy Clark to spread the fire of renewal and revival in Toronto and now around the world. This book isn't so much about Randy Clark. It's about God's process of preparation for ministry. It's about how God uses the weak to confound the strong and wise. It's about how God works through hardships to train us in faith and perseverance. It's the story of how God first worked in Randy's life, then through his life.

In Lighting Fires, Randy shares how God found him, a common man, whose only virtue
was his willingness to be used for God's purposes. Maybe you, like Randy, have experienced failures and personal setbacks, lived through seasons of hardness and spiritual weariness. If you're wondering how the Lord can use someone like you to impact lives in any way, much less on the grand scale of global evangelism, then this story and teaching will inspire, anoint and prepare you to light fires of revival in others around you.

More About the Author

Randy Clark, a noted international speaker, is a doctoral candidate at United Theological Seminary, received his M.Div from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and his bachelor's degree was in Religious Studies from Oakland City University. He was used of God to birth the revival that broke out in Toronto, Canada, in January 1994 that continued six nights a week for over twelve years.

Randy is best known for the gift on his life for activating and imparting gifts of the Holy Spirit. The late John Wimber was the first to recognize this grace on Randy's life. John heard the audible voice of God tell him twice that Randy would one day travel the world laying hands on pastors and leaders to activate and impart to them gifts of the Spirit. Randy also continues to demonstrate the Lord's power to heal the sick with great tenacity. While having been used to launch several famous ministers into the new level of their anointing by laying hands on them and prophesying to them, the focus of his ministry is on the average person in the congregation, encouraging them that they too can be used of God in the gifts of the Spirit, especially words of knowledge and healing. His message is simple: "God wants to use you."

He is the author of "There Is More" and many other books, manual/workbooks, booklets and materials. He is the co-author with Bill Johnson of two books, "The Essential Guide to Healing" and "Healing Unplugged". His book, "There Is More" is now being used as a textbook at the United Theological Seminary (a United Methodist Seminary) for one of the courses taught by Dr. Andrew Sung Park. Dr. Park is also going to use "The Essential Guide to Healing" in his seminary course.

4.0 out of 5 stars The wonderful journey of Randy Clark with God, July 17, 2005
This review is from: Lighting Fires (Paperback)
This book is a testimony of Randy Clark and his journey with God, the lessons that he had learnt along the way, and how God used him in the Toronto Blessing. I am greatly encouraged in reading this because it shows the reality of the journey that God takes us through, the sacrifices that we have to make, the surrender of our lives to God, and how God uses us to forward His purposes and plans. As Randy mentioned that he is a nobody, and why would God want to use him? But the very fact that he is a nobody, but is willing to give up what he has to be an instrument in God's hands, that God works through him. Randy also talks about the difficult times when he divorced his first wife, the difficulty he had to go through with the churches he was at, but also showed the grace of God coming through for him. It is often not easy to serve God because of what we need to give up in our lives and obey God. It is also a sacrifice of our free will so that we take God's will upon us, and that was what Randy did as he shared through this book. Read it and be inspired that you too can be used of God... if only...

5.0 out of 5 stars Lighting Fires, January 18, 2012
This review is from: Lighting Fires (Paperback)
Many preachers write books these days. Some of them contain biographical data like this book. There are very few that are willing to share the hard things in life they went through to get to the place they are today. Randy Clark could have just written about the great things that God has been doing through his life as so many others have. However Clark shares the tough times that he went through not just the amazing stories of what it was like to see God move through him in such a mighty way. I am grateful for this because it gives hope to those of us that have been through similar difficulties. Because of Clark's humility and willingness to share the "dark night" of his soul, we get one of the most beautiful pictures of God's goodness and redemptive power in revival that I have ever read.
