My two boys, ages 4 and 2, have a blast with their Rip Stick Lightning McQueens. We have two of these cars because my wife and I are weak. You see, when our kids first started to contend for toys (very soon after our youngest child learned to say "MINE!") we jumped into the fray, eager to teach our progeny the value of sharing, and brimming with confidence that we would succeed. (Veteran parents, please try not to snicker at our ignorance) Countless tantrums, screaming matches, and time-outs later we decided to buy two of everything. I know I should be dismayed by the parenting failure and additional expense, but oh, the blessed quiet...

The Lightning McQueen Rip Stick Racer is just plain fun. The cord is easy to insert and pull - well, fairly easy; my four-year-old has no problem but my two-year-old needs a bit of help. The car and cord both seem quite durable. The car has withstood the rigors of careening headlong into most of my furniture and all of my walls. The cord has survived everything from being a two-year-old's dental floss to an Indiana Jones style whip used to combat rogue Christmas Trees. It even works for propelling the car, albeit infrequently. The car revs satisfyingly when you pull the cord and pops spectacular wheelies as it races across the carpet.

It is difficult to tell the size of this toy from the image and product description. I don't have the toy or a ruler in front of me, but I would estimate that it is about 8" long x 4 1/2" wide x 3" high. I recommend this product if you have a young Cars enthusiast in the family.

I ordered this for my nephew's birthday and he was able to enjoy it briefly but then the rip stick stripped so you couldn't make the car run with it. Very disappointing.

I originally got this toy for my oldest son. We have had it for years and it has lasted long enough for my youngest son too. They have fun racing with Lightning. Great toy!
