Book Description

As if being struck by lightning wasn’t bad enough. I spent a month in a coma. Of course that was when I was a teenager. It left me with some pretty unusual abilities. For instance, I can find just about anything or anyone. Oh, and I can see ghosts, too!
I pick up extra cash working with the local P.D. I’m their go-to girl when they have someone they need to find. Despite all of this, my life is pretty boring — that is until the very hot Detective Nick Cavanaugh came into my life. Boy did we get off on the wrong foot. I was asked to pair up with Detective Cavanaugh to look for three missing children. Did I mention that he doesn’t believe in my superpowers?
When we discover the children have been kidnapped, the search takes us up into the mountains and old mining towns. With time running out and my abilities going wonky, Cavanaugh is ready to drop me from the case. Pffft! As if that will stop me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful writer with a wonderful book! June 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was really enjoying this story. It was funny and kept my attention and I didn't want to put it down until I got done with it and then I got to the end of the book and the story just ended. I don't know if there is going to be another book to continue the story or what. I was really disappointed. If you are starting a series and going to continue the story instead of wrapping it up into a wonderful story with a wonderful ending then you need to let people know ahead of time.

-Now that I know for sure that there is another book continuing the story, I am changing my stars to 5 stars instead of 4. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because at that time we didn't know if there was going to be another book to continue the story or not. This book was wonderfully written and held my attention throughout the whole story. It is hard to believe that this is her first book. She writes like an experienced writer. I look forward to the next book in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable book July 27, 2014

Entertaining story that keeps you engaged. The heroine is a real person with faults not some whiny needy damsel in distress.
There are a few editing issues but I overlooked them in my rating because I enjoyed the book. Particularly liked her quirky family and her narcolepetic cat. Looking forward to the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait to see what's next for Andromeda June 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Enjoyable, easy and quick the detail as it makes for a great mental visual to compliment the storyline. Looking forward to the next in the series. Also enjoyed by my 16 year old daughter who generally doesn't like to pick up a book, but makes for a good summer read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Humor all around!!!! September 30, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book to give an honest review.

I think I have found my favorite character. I enjoy almost all the characters I read about, but Andromeda or Rommey as she is known has to be my favorite by far. She is witty, sarcastic, and she is just a normal girl minus the whole I can find people or lost things heck throw in the occasional ghost.

Rommy's family is by far normal her mother is in a coven and her father believes in the stars how Rommey turned out to be normal is well her stars must have been lined. I found myself trying to saying her name properly and I couldn't so I am glad she had a nickname that was easy to say. Rommy helps the local PD in her town to help solve cases when they need her which I think is pretty rad.

Rommy gets a case one that will push her limit on her powers and in the process explore her feelings with Mr. Yummy Detective real name Nick who is possessive and sexy all rolled up into one. I don't think he realizes that trying to control or "protect" Rommy is what is going to happen. The chemistry between both of these characters had me in fits of laughter especially the whole shower scene that went on that left Rommy a blubbering hot mess.

There is humor, some action, some attraction all mixed in with this story and it went together very very well. The author has done a great job with capturing your attention from the first page and leaves you wanting more of Andromeda and her powers along with her narcoleptic cat which was a first for me to read about.

The author has done a great job with character building, and descriptions overall she has an awesome writing style. I do hope to read more as I want more of the humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it August 28, 2014

I'm an English major working through my senior year of college which means I do a lot of really dry reading that is never as enjoyable as I'd like reading to be. This book was a great way to break up the monotony of school work. Just curl up with it and enjoy the reading. It has some fantastic funny moments that make you laugh out loud, probably the loudest a book has ever gotten me to ( probably shouldn't read this in public unless you want some questioning looks, just FYI). I mean, how can a book with a narcoleptic cat not be completely hilarious? The main character Andromeda is around my age and I find her thoughts, personality, and relationships relatable despite her supernatural abilities and circumstances. Also, being from the San Joaquin Valley myself, it's fun to be familiar with the environment a book is set in for a change instead of leaving everything to imagination. Overall, Lightning Strikes has a really good mix of humor, mystery, and romance that makes for a fun light read.
