I Fell in Love With PJ and his Mariah,
This review is from: The Lightning Tree (Paperback)
I loved every line every page of this remarkable work. Mariah came to life for me as a living portrait set in the landscape of recent Irish history. Her story was told beautifully, compassionately, vividly; it was a work I call "poetic realism", a history of Ireland seen through the eyes of a unique, wise woman and her family. Mariah and I touched souls. Thank you PJ curtis.

A heart grabber!,

This review is from: The Lightning Tree (Paperback)
I bought this book when I was in Ireland last fall. I saw it everywhere on the bookshelves of the shops I visited. Now I know why! Having visited the Burren in Ireland I can now imagine the life that was depicted in this book. It is the story of one woman's life and is so intimate about the spiritual and daily life of life in rural Irish culture. I felt that I knew this woman and her way of life intimately in the story. I didn't read it quickly---I felt each chapter had to be savored for the insight and wisdom given. A beautiful and poignant story of life.
