Good stuff from Pollard's gang,

Expect many different things from Robert Pollard over the next few years. This is along the lines of his solo stuff, but with an edgy overtone from the past. Bunches of repeated rhythms surround the always profound lyrics. Very good musically for the GBV purist. Worth a look for others wanting the simple gratification of somthing unique. Buy everything Bob Pollard ever had anything to do with and you will never be sorry.

worth seeking out,

This is a worthwhile release for the GBV fan who isn't obsessive about owning all the weirder side-projects. This is a relatively straightforward rock mini-album, recorded with a real band, everyone together in the studio (with Pollard on guitar!). It really has some stellar playing and some memorable songs, particularly the awesome first track and the powerful epic "Look at Your Life" -- Pollard has offered a free mp3 of this track at his website: http://www.robertpollard.net/music.html.
Most of the tracks strongly recall late-period GBV at its best, with hints of the charming weirdness of the band's younger days.
