I am the author of the book and this TAB edition is being published without my consent and generates zero royalties for me. The original publisher was Belvoir Publications, who sold rights to TAB Books without consulting me. TAB has never paid me a nickel on this book. They have ripped me off bigtime.

A good review of engine operations. Not too much new but it is all in one place.
The part on engine leaning is a good review of the basics, some may Some may have a different opinion, but this is what the manufacturer puts out. A worthwhile book for all pilots.

New Pilot Must Have,

Got my license over two years ago and I fly Piper's and Cessna's. This book is exactly what a new pilot flying Lycoming or Continental engines needs to read. I would almost say it's the definitive book on small air-cooled aircraft engines.
