1.0 out of 5 stars Nice when it works
This is NOT a review of Amazon, but a review of the bulb. I bought four of the #9266 lights which each came with a 9166B bulb. All of them worked when I first installed them, but a week later one of the lights quit working. I swapped bulbs between two of the units and determined that the bulb was bad. For as expensive as these things are I expect them to be more reliable...

This is NOT a review of Amazon, but a review of the bulb. I bought four of the #9266 lights which each came with a 9166B bulb. All of them worked when I first installed them, but a week later one of the lights quit working. I swapped bulbs between two of the units and determined that the bulb was bad. For as expensive as these things are I expect them to be more reliable. I've had similar disappointments with other fluorescent lights from Lights of America. Considering that the lights are made in China, why do they have this name? The only way I can see to get a reliable light is to buy several and throw away the bad ones. Not very cost effective. I wish somebody else made these things.

As for the claim that they put out the equivalent of 500W, I used these to replace four 400W metal halide lights. There is no way these put out as much light as my old lights, but I am glad to be rid of the high electric consumption and the buzzing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money, not very bright, January 15, 2010

I wished that I would have checked this bulb out better. It is not bright at all, my flashlight is brighter than this light. I going to put my mercury vapor bulb back in because of better lighting for security reason. It may work better with 240 volt, However for regular yard light it will not work. Save you money and look around and don't throw away the receipt or box.

1.0 out of 5 stars restocking fee is rediculous!!!, August 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lights Of America #9166B 65W Fluorescent Replacement Bulb (Misc.)
Bought this light bulb and it was the wrong one. So, when I contacted the sender, I was informed that I would not only have to pay the reshipping cost but there would also be a $5 restocking fee. It is a ligtbulb, not an air conditioner!
It was not worth it for me to send it back. This practice of charging a restocking fee (regardless of the product) sucks and needs to be changed if they ever want my business again.

Bought my light fixture and the bulb Model 9166B was included one year two months ago. Very happy with the uniform and more than adequate light. The bulb apparently stopped working/burned out after 14 months. If I had read the other reviews I probably would not have purchased this light. I am surprised at the life of the bulb and assumed it would have lasted for at least two or three years. Still I plan on buying a replacement bulb and am keeping my fingers crossed that I won't run into the early or not working at all problem that some of the other reviewers have had.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Shiping, June 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The product was never delivered. When I called to inquire about my order I was informed that it was delivered on April 30, 2010. I was also told by a "customer service rep" that there was nothing he could do to help me and I should contact the USPS in my town to check on the delivery. I don't know what this company thinks customer service is? But I know that if this is the way I ran my customer service for my customers, I would be out of business. I know I will never do business with this merchant again.

This is my second set of these lights. I use them for my plants so they are on about 6 hours a day. They don't last very long but they do the job and they're not too expensive. I purchased these lights from Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy a Heat Zone shoplight heater!!!!!!!!!!!!!, March 17, 2011
By
This review is from: Lights Of America #9166B 65W Fluorescent Replacement Bulb (Misc.)
These bulbs go into a Shoplight Heater. The product and shipment speed were fine but whatever you do, don't buy a "Designers Edge HeatZone Shoplight Heater" for your garage. I purchased it about 5 months ago at Costco and have had to replace the (two) bulbs 5 times now. I called the company 3 times and they kept telling me the person I needed to talk with was off at the time. I was told they were having ballast problems and told me they would ship me a replacement rather than my sending the whole unit back to them for repair. That was 3 weeks ago, no ballast. I will probably just take it back to Costco who has a fine reputation for standing behing their products. Please learn from my mistake, $20 per bulb for a $80 light.
