NANCY MEETS A FAMOUS ACTRESS -- AND LOSES A FAMOUS TURTLE!

Nine-year-old actress Lucy Webb is starring in Totally Tina, a movie that's being filmed right in River Heights -- and Nancy and her friends are chosen as extras for the movie! Not only do the girls get to meet their favorite actress, but they get to take care of Lucy's pet turtle, Harry, while she's filming.

But when they look away for a second, Harry gets turtle-napped! Now Lucy is really mad and won't visit Nancy's school as she promised. The girls had better find Lucy's favorite pet before Nancy's in the doghouse with her whole school!

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who wants the film to flop?, January 20, 2008

This review is from: Lights! Camera! Clues! (Nancy Drew Notebooks, No. 29) (Paperback)
River Heights is the place where a really cool movie is being filmed. It's called Totally Tina, and Nancy, Bess and George are thrilled to be cast as extras, because it stars their favorite kid star! And, if things go as planned, Hollywood's biggest child star is also going to make an appearance at their school!

When the filming begins, things start going wrong -- and there are tons of suspects! A snooty reporter was snubbed, an extra was denied a speaking part, and jealousy begins a chain of hijinks that will spoil it all.

To make matters worse, the star's pet turtle has disappeared while Nancy was taking care of it. Now Nancy could be part of the trouble, unless she can use her blue notebook to crack the case of Lights! Camera! Clues!

Once again, Carolyn Keene has whipped up a delightful story for young readers to love with an exciting setting that is sure to stimulate further reading.
