timelss & enchanting
We'd had this on (mono) VHS for years; now on DVD. This cartoon tells the story of the Hellenist Greeks, their culture, & their inability to dim the spark of Jewish holiness and connection to G-d. Clever animation, especially of the Hebrew alphabet, gets even toddlers involved in the story. Well worth showing to kids of all ages at Chanukah.

Not very interesting. Kind of boring. Did not stress more significant events about the holiday. Not enough music or any holiday songs

Lights was first brought to my attention by my daughter's second grade hebrew school teacher. Produced approximately twenty years ago, it stars the voice of Jewish actor Leonard Nimoy "Spock" of Star Trek fame and other famous Jewish actors. Our Rabbi's wife wanted this DVD as well as my family and friends.

Caught this on TV many years ago and was glad to find the DVD for my daughter. This is a lovely and inspiring production - very touching and not heavy-handed. Highly recommended!
