Another Hit from The Cash Money Crew,
By Agent Esco (Elk Grove, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lights Out (Audio CD)
At first, I was a little skeptical purchasing this CD because Lil' Wayne was my least favorite of the whole Cash Money Millionaires crew, and the rest of his crew weren't featured on that many songs. However, that view on Lil' Wayne has now changed, and I now am sure that Cash Money is here to stay. "Lights Out" is one of the best Cash Money CD's to date. Wayne shows a variety of styles and beats as he rhymes like Twista and then turn aroung and slow it down for a couple of other tracks. The beats are also tight as ever (aren't they always when Mannie Fresh is producin). Although he talks about most of the same things such as fancy cars, he focuses more on life in some of his other songs and getting through this crazy world. If your a fan, or if you've never really heard a Cash Money CD, still go pick this one up. You'll be impressed...

Lil Wayne putting Lights Out For All Cash Money Haters,
By B-More Reviewer "The One and Only Eric" (Baltimore, Maryland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lights Out (Audio CD)
Here's the real scoop on Lil Wayne "Lights Out." The album is one of the best Cash Money albums to date. All of his songs is good but here are the songs that stand out and make the album the best:1. Get Off The Corner - Kinda similar to Tha Block Is Hot but Get off Tha Corner I think is better. Nice background effects during the hook. This song will make you bop your head (10/10) 2. Hit U Up - Nice beat to the song. With the Hot Boyz in the song, it makes the song even more spectacular. Everyone who raps in the song does a good job. (8/10) 3. F**k Wit Me Now - One of my favorites. Lil Wayne makes you get up and dance a little. His lyrics will make you think more of Lil Wayne. He does good rapping in this song. (9/10) 4. Shine - This is another one of my best on this album. I listened to the song about 20 times before I went to the next song. I like the beat but some of the lyrics didn't go right with the beat but it's still a great song (10/10) 5. Jump Jiggy - A goo dance song for all you dancing freaks. The beat of a Spanish guitar. I danced to this song all the way through. Lil Wayne puts it down in this song (8/10) 6. Let's Go - What a song his is. The Big Tymers are the major MVP's in this song but Lil Wayne does his part in the song as well. I like the hook part with Baby and Lil Wayne. (8/10) Those are the best songs on the album. The other songs are just either average or below average. The most poor song and the only poor song on the album is "Lil One" Nonetheless, I give this album 9/10, an A-. If you're a die hard Lil Wayne/CM fan, you should get this album. Also, get Young Turk's "Young And Thuggin" and Juvenile's "Project English" as well as Hot Boyz "Let 'Em Burn" Peace.

The Block Is Still Hot so Get Off The Corner,
By J. Highsmith (Mitchellville, Maryland United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lights Out (Audio CD)
After an impressive debut CD, Lil Wayne is back for his second attempt with "Lights Out". Lil Wayne is always known as the character of Cash Money but on many of the releases that they have had, Lil Wayne is always there to give quality contributions. This was clearly evident, especially on the Big Tymers' CD " I Got That Work". On his 2nd disc, Lil Wayne shows a little maturity but he is still back to his tricks of old. Lil Wayne does a good job on this CD with the lyrics and Mannie Fresh always represents with the beats, although sometimes his beats can be repetitive. The 1st single, "Get Off The Corner", is definitely a tight track but you have to admit that it does remind you of the "Block Is Hot". The best moments on this CD, in my opinion, are the two tracks with The Hot Boys: "Hit U Up" and "Shine" are definitely classic Cash Money tracks. Lil Wayne doesn't let the boys outdue him either. This will have you waiting for the next Hot Boys CD, "Let 'Em Burn". Other noteworthy tracks are "Grown Man", "Lil One" w/Big Tymers, "On The Grind", and "Jump Jiggy". Though, I like "The Block Is Hot" a little better than "Lights Out", this is another winner for Cash Money Records. There is nothing groundbreaking on this CD. However, if you are a Cash Money fan, that isn't a bad thing. Also, check for Juvenile's "Project English" and Turk's debut CD in the Spring.
