Working in the Jungles of South America & Asia, I have found the Lignomat MINI-LIGNO E to be one of my most valued tools. It is easy to use and to calibrate. You can use it on hardwoods and softwoods. I use it to determine accurate levels of seasoning on higher value woods. We use the Ligomat MINI-LIGNO E to purchase lumber all over the world. I highly recommend the Lignomat line of moisture detectors.

In a few words, this is a small, light, efficient moisture meter. Carry it around when you are out to buy wood for your projects. Simple and easy to use, I checked its readings with bigger moisture meters and they are pretty consistent. It does put two small puncture holes in the wood being tested, but I still prefer this type of moisture meters to the electro-magnetic ones (I also own the smaller Wagner).

This moisture meter is easy to use and is accurate in determining the moisture content in hardwood flooring and subflooring. This is the 2nd Lignomat MINI-LIGNO I have owned and would highly recommend it to individuals in the hardwood flooring business.

I purchased one of these for a friend and bought one for myself based on ease of use and the reviews on this page. Mine works great and appears to be accurate. As I buy more lumber from private sources (ie neighbors, friends, auctions) I'll be a able to check moisture content.

I currently own a large pin type hammer driven moisture meter and was looking for a less damaging way to check moisture levels in wood. The MINI-LIGNO turned out to be a good choice since it is quick to use, fits in my pocket and leaves a very small mark on the finished product. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to check wood moisture content.

This is a great mositure meter. I bought it to replace a PSI meter that burned out after only 6 months. Wished I had bought this one in the first place and saved myself $39 I wasted on the first meter. It doesn't pay to go cheap.

Easy to use. It seems accurate when used on either kiln dried or air dried materials.

I was very impressed with this meter. I works right out of the box without any problems. The charts you get with the tool are easy to understand and use. The design is user friendly and the pins insert with little pressure because of the design of the tool. I wish I'd have bought mine sooner!

Easy to use, comfortable to hold, and accurate. Works as advertised and that's all you can ask for.

If you are buying wood, working with wood or selling wood, you must have a moisture meter and this introductory version is the best way to start out. High moisture content in wood is a big defect and must be monitored.
