Readers of Christian romances are gonna love this one!, June 20, 1998

This review is from: Like Abigail (Paperback)
Like Abigail is fast paced with fully fleshed characters that readers will love and hate. The story revolves around a young girl, Abigail, who is being raised in a children's home. She has no idea where her only brother is at and longs to see him. The story begins with action when Abigail learns a man named Leo is interested in marrying her. The setting is during the war years. Even though Abigail doesn't really love Leo, she likes the thought of not having to live in the children's home anymore. They marry and problems surmount--even when Abigail hears from her brother. But Abigail becomes a strong Christian in the process and faces her tragedies with faith. The emotions in the book are truly warm, touching and sincere. This book is a great read. It'd make a terrific gift for a teen girl or an adult woman. I hope we will see more novels authored by Millie Barger. I think this author could have a large readership in the Christian romance market like Janette Okie with her prairie romances.
