About the Author

Judy Lalli teaches second grade at Paul V. Fly School in Norristown, Pennsylvania, where she has taught for over 30 years. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and she has completed extensive postgraduate work as well. As an adjunct professor for Wilkes University, Judy teaches graduate education courses for teachers.

More About the Author

Along with being a writer, Judy Lalli is a teacher, adjunct professor and staff developer. She has written all of her books with her students in mind; they have always been her first editors and critics. A current passion is conducting poetry writing and conflict prevention workshops in schools, both for students and teachers. Judy lives in Philadelphia, where she enjoys much of the city's wonderful cultural, historical and gastronomical offerings.

It's amazing to hear how quickly and easily these poems are learned and recited by the children. The expression in their voices and on their faces are proof that these words have made a positive impression. Social skills are easily understood and internalized using this enjoyable approach. The poems are addictive: my students can't recite one without rolling into another. Teaching cooperation and encouraging positive self-esteem has never been easier!

"I Like Being Me" is a wonderful resource for parents and teachers. This thought-provoking collection is filled with practical, down-to-earth "lessons for life" that adults try so hard to share with youngsters . . . usually without success. The book's clear and clever messages combined with supportive photos provides entertainment and insights for children, parents and teachers.

This was a great book for kids that are unsure of themselves. I thought it was so great because it had poems in it that could help one relook at themselves from someone else point of view.
