Book Description

May 1, 2006
Despite years of soaking up sermons and Bible lessons, the average Christian feels ill-equipped to answer objections posed by family, friends, and colleagues. Why do some Christians find themselves unable to respond to such objections as: - "You don't need to go to church to be spiritual." - "Christians are just hypocrites." - "Science has disproved Christianity." These statements often come from individuals who wish they could have faith but are hindered by would-be obstacles. Michael Green and Nick Spencer provide a resource for believers to respectfully address such concerns with teaching that enlightens and transforms. Based on the researched comments of real individuals whose situations are smartly fleshed out, this book can help persons move beyond "I'd like to believe, but . . ." to "I believe."

From the Back Cover

"You don't need to go to church to be spiritual." "Christians are just hypocrites." "Science has disproved Christianity." The hurdles that keep people from embracing belief in Christ are varied and numerous. Michael Green here addresses objections posed by real people, meeting seekers where they are and helping them see beyond their questions to a faith of their own. "Nick Spencer sensitively draws out the complex questions posed by agnostics, and New Testament scholar Michael Green addresses them with lucidity, charity, and understanding-getting to both the heart and mind of the honest seeker."--Ravi Zacharias, author and speaker "Here are thoughtful, honest answers to real people, provided with the kind of winsomeness, sincerity, and love that we can only hope will rub off on everyone who reads this book."--Charles W. Colson, founder and chairman, Prison Fellowship "Michael Green has done it again. A book that is contemporary, relevant, and credible. In response to insightful questions about faith, he and Nick Spencer have given us profound answers that are so easy to understand."--Josh McDowell, author and speaker "This should be a staple in the library of anyone who wants to effectively share their faith with someone who has questions or skepticism."--Scott Dawson, evangelist and author

Excellent resource. I had borrowed and read someone else's copy, and needed my own so I could mark it up and make margin notes. I recommend this book for those who want to talk with friends and strangers about God. These chapters help you and them understand the fallacies in what they think they believe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, simply written, a little liberal., July 27, 2007
This review is from: I'd Like to Believe, But. . . Answers for Spiritual Seekers (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book and it took me only one evening to read it. It easy to read and comprehend. My only complaint is that it is a little liberal in its writing, but that is just part of the Anglican ideas of writer Michael Green.
