If i could give more than 5 stars i would , i would probably put this album in the strict company of best albums ever category , Juliette & the licks are rock and roll , they are punk rock in the sexiest way , and its not just Juliette using her 'star power ' to sell music,. she almost denounces her stardom on this record . Shes on a mission and that mission is to bring Rock music back to its glory days , before all of this Linkin park , limp bizkit , goodcharlotte watered down mtv crap ruins it for good , Listen up people Juliette is Rocks last savior , hold on as tight as you can and shell still blow you away , THIS ALBUM IS THE DEFINITION OF PUNK ROCK. its iggy pop meets patti Smith in the most wonderful of ways

"Juliette and the Licks" is a take no prisoners band that busts out with a SERIOUS rock attitude (thanks to Paul Ill and Todd Morse) and is fronted by actress cum ROCK GODDESS, the wildcat herself: Juliette Lewis! "...Like A Bolt of Lightning," their album, originally released in 2004, but now with bonus tracks is a WHAM, BAM, THANK YOU M'AAM to the senses. 6 tracks that really LICK you from start to end, this EP is just a prelude to a most definate intense full length record ("Your Speaking My Language" is released May 17!) Full of heavy hitting guitar, slammin' drums and Juliette's raw emotion of a voice makes this EP a definate 'look into' www.julietteandthelicks.com! But while this recording pumps you up-Nothing would prepare you for a live show! Having seen The Licks twice in NYC, I was blown away by Juliette Lewis' strong stage pressence and animalistic behavior that really knocked the crowd on their asses. The Licks are the real deal and the sweat and spit that flies is your proof! It has been awhile since we have had an intense, true rock chick fronting a rock/punk band and now Juliette Lewis is bringing it back! Comparable to Joan Jett and Courtney Love- even Iggy Pop, Juliette flexes, flips, crowd surfs, spits, screams, and if she catches you singing along-will look you dead in the eye..and smile...
You wanna get licked. I know you do. Sooner or later EVERYONE is gonna get a lickin' from JULIETTE AND THE LICKS!

With this Ep Juliette Lewis prooves that she's not only a great actress, but she's also a great singer. Juliette and The Licks are something refreshing in punk rock music. These six songs are all excellent but they're nothing compared to the debut album that was released three months later.

Juliette Lewis is my favorite actress and singer ever her band is awsome,i bought her soundtrack "Like a Bolt of Lightning" and i reserved her new soundtrack "You"re Speaking My Language".Also i got tickets to her concert at "The Magic Stick"In Detriot MI.And finally im going to see Juliette Lewis for the first time in my life ever.Her soundtracks rock and she rocks.

Star or not, Juliette just straight-up RAWKS! I saw her live last year the Knitting Factory in LA and got the original EP/CD last year...now released with one new bonus track, my loss (I paid WAY too much on ebay!) is your gain: all these tracks rock, but standout cuts like the Linda Perry co-penned COMIN AROUND or SHELTER YOUR NEEDS or GOTTA LOVE TO KILL deserve to be radio/MTV hits if given the right video/promotion - c'mon, don't bias yourself due to her past acting roles, she's CANDY SLICE meets IGGY POP with a pinch of BRODY DALLE thrown in for good measure. Being a rockstar IS a pose, and Juliette's got it down to a science. Sadly, she might go the way of other deserving rockers like DANIELLE BRISEBOIS, forever saddled with their TV/film acting persona. The LICKS deserve to be heard on their own merits - cannot WAIT for the full-length!

This EP rocks! I've got all of their CDs, but still think this one's the best of them. First three tracks are just straight hard rock from hell. Got Love to Kill is one track I can't get out of my mind. Love this version rather than the Speaking My... one.

I was so pleased when they FINALLY released this LP. I have seen her live twice, and there's nothing like it. But if they could bottle it up and put a wrapper on it, this'd be it. It's heavily in rotation for me. Can't wait for the new album coming soon!

Juliette rocks! This is what Punk is all about, good clean rebellious rock without the bummer message of hate or self pity found in most of today's bands. She puts it out there and with energy, sex appeal and her cute smile. So she was a actress, so what? She was singing all along and darn good too - she brings that passion and professionalism from being a pro actress to her music. She has a great web site too! Can't wait to hear the new stuff!
