Apparently taking a more serious approach on their fourth album, Janez Detd are looking to capture mainstream American appeal with Like Cold Rain Kills a Summer Day.
Directed toward fans of Fall Out Boy and Matchbook Romance, the songs focus on melodic leads and multilayered vocals that crescendo into catchy upbeat choruses. This band offers more punk oriented songs than the aforementioned bands that could draw comparisons to old Thrice (Identity Crisis) and the The Offspring which may actually keep some of those fans away-- this might be a little too abrasive in spots for the kids who listen to Fall Out Boy, than again, it might be the perfect change of pace.
Screaming vocals, mini-breakdowns and up-tempo punk rock sections mixed with melodic vocals, soaring choruses and straight rock songs are what this album has in store. Possibly the perfect transition from the mainstream to something a little more challenging?
