5.0 out of 5 stars Hot doesn't do it justice, November 13, 2007

This review is from: Hot Like Fire (Dafina Contemporary Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
The title is dead on with this one. This is the second in a series, and I thought I was in love with the other brother. I was wrong. Kade was hilarious and real. Real. The entire book was real. I love Ms. Bryant, because unlike a lot of the older writers, she writes how she talks. There are so many writers out there who are afraid to use contractions, or real curse words. They sugar coat it, "He let fly a string of expletives?" oh, you mean he curse. Well, yeah, real people do that and there isn't a narrator to bleep it out. Anyway, I digress. I loved this book. Loved it. The interactions with the characters were hilarious, eotic and real, all at the same time. Kudos.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot! Hot! Hot!, November 12, 2007

The book's title was definitely appropriate as Ms. Bryant put it down in her ongoing fictional Hot Holtsville series. Garcelle and Kade were a good couple, but I found the last few chapters to be redundant. I felt it took too long for the Hero to figure out that he could totally love again. With that said, it still was an excellent read and the romance totally...did I say Hot?

5.0 out of 5 stars Out of the darkness...into the marvelous light, March 5, 2008
This review is from: Hot Like Fire (Dafina Contemporary Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Hot Like Fire is a fabulous love story which is the second installment of the Strong/Hot Holtsville Series.

Kade Strong is a grieving widower that has retreated into a shell upon the death of his wife. All work, raising their daughter, and just making it through another day has been his daily routine while being assisted by his loving parents. Kade finally makes the decision to reclaim his privacy and he and Kadina move back to their home and the games begin. Garcelle is a young, vivacious family friend that likes to shake her moneymaker whenever she gets a chance. She's attending college, taking care of the men in her family, and working to pay for her education. In the midst of babysitting, she's become Kade's personal bodyguard as she matches wits with the local hoochies in their quest to scheme their way into his bed with all sorts of enticing promises of lustful tricks and treats. Due to their daily camaraderie, this pair's initial attraction blossoms and ignites into a blazing affair.

Niobia Bryant has yet again penned another best seller that not only endears the characters to your heart with a realistic view of one of life's many heartbreaks but also sprinkles the triumphant light of second chances in love and life in this brilliant series. I love the creativity portrayed in the characters, the silver-haired theme (very original), the familial first names, and how she introduces each character and their personalities. All of these things pique your interest that much more and has the readers anxiously anticipating the next installation to this series. Excellent read! Another winner to me, Ms. Bryant! Continue to shine!

Very sensual. Passion between Kade and Garcelle jumped off the pages! Liked that they became good friends before lovers. Like Garcelle, her father was a straight shooter with his words. The little girl was a sweet touch too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!!, December 7, 2007
This review is from: Hot Like Fire (Dafina Contemporary Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I always enjoy Niobia Bryant's books and it was great revisting the Strong family. I don't even have to read the back of her books before buying. I simply pick up her books as soon as I see her name and know I will be thoroughly entertained and captivated. I wasn't disappointed and I couldn't put it down the only thing I hated was it had to end.

This is such a great story of determination and will on all parties involved. Niobia Bryant did a great job of getting Kade, Kadina and Garcelle involved to make this relationship work. Garcelle is a hot mama-out to get her man!!! She knows what she wants, but Kade is doing the slow shuffle. I loved this story!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK!!, October 13, 2011

Niobia Bryant is becoming one of my favorite authors! First let me say that I read the last installment of the Holtsville series first and fell in love with with Kaleb. Then I read Heated and fell in love with Kahron. Oh no!! I am now in love and lust with Kade!!! He is a true "STRONG" man!! This book has everything love, lust, denial, friendship and family. It takes a REAL man to admit things out loud and not just in their heads. You will not be disappointed with the purchase of this book. I cannot wait to read about Kaedan next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very steamy romance, March 2, 2011
This review is from: Hot Like Fire (Dafina Contemporary Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I liked the story of Kade and Gracelle. The only complaint I have is that my book was missing a few pages. I felt bad for Kade because it is hard to start over again and not feel guilty. I do believe that Gracelle was what he needed. I didn't read about Kashon and Bianca yet so I will have to go back and read that. But this book was definitely steamy. It was a quick read and it kept my attention.

This was a great follow up to Heated. Not as hot as kharon's story, but hot in it's own right. Pick this one up, now off to read the 3rd book.
