Well, before I go too far I have to add a disclaimer: I wholeheartedly admit that I am so sold on the entire L.A. Symphony crew that I could not possibly make an unbiased review of anything they have ever done. That said it is their unbelievable ability to make intelligent (yes!), thought provoking yet dancable hip hop along with refreshing wit and creativity that has won my undying allegiance. And this album just heaps more greatness onto an already extensive and impressive body of work (14 fresh albums in about 6 years). Holy smokes! Usually it takes me a few listens to warm up to even the dopest material, but by the second listen I was ready to give In Like Flynn the title of "greatest hip hop album ever." I mean it. Crazy beats, sometimes playful, sometimes deeply personal lyrics, and that unspeakable LA Symph vibe, mmmmmm. I know that the mainstream is so busy regurgitating each other's crap that this wont hit the big time, but for an album that will make you believe that hip hop is indeed alive and well, at least in some circles, pick this up. Hip hop fans will not be disappointed.
