This apartment building is in need of major repairs and the tenants are just as fed up with the dilapidated, run down building as they are with each other!!! An new tenant, the mysterious, sexy Raven Thorn arrives and things really start to get interesting!666 Cypress Avenue has a wild variety of tenants that occupy the apartments. There's old Miss Cane and drug dealing Tyrone, who can't stand each other. Lawyer Tanya and her husband Teddy; Melinda the overwieght unemployed chick; Keisha the stuck up social service case worker; Dawn, her handicaped son Jake and her boyfriend Todd; handicapped mean spirited Ralph Jones and his daughter Patricia; Ida and Yasir Muhammed; Betty Wingo and her nerdy son Dexter; Mia Brown and her wanna be thug son Freddy; bitter, heartbroken, Jeff and his son Donald; Hispanic police officer Eddie; recovering crackhead Crystal Bright and of course Raven Thorn, the super friendly new tenant, who is on a mission to change the lives of those at 666 Cypress Ave forever!!! Too bad the rest of the tenants have fallen under Raven's spell....let's hope they can wake up before it's too late, because Raven is no ordinary lady, as they will soon find out!!!!

The living conditions at 666 Cyprus Avenue are horrible. The thirteen tenants who reside in this building have to endure rats as big as cats, a broken elevator and broken doors. In addition, they aren't friendly toward each other and some are battling their own personal demons.Several years ago, drop-dead gorgeous Raven Thorn suffers a tragic loss and she loses all faith in God and mankind. On a mission, she travels from city to city and country to country with a diabolical plan, she will stop at nothing until her plan is accomplished. Raven becomes a new tenant at 666 Cyprus Avenue and everyone is hypnotized by her beauty and charm, except for Crystal, a young crack addict. Crystal feels an evil presence whenever she is around Raven. LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR is a psychological thriller of spellbinding proportions. The reader is drawn into Raven's skillful manipulations and watches her wicked plan unfold. The scenes are crystal-clear and the characterization is intense and plausible. It was as if I was under a spell to get to the end of LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR, overflowing with drama, bloodshed, and pure evil. Reviewed by Sharon Lewis of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

This novel was a wow factor on so many levels that you can not believe the rush that you get from this book. It's powerful and gripping and Dwayne S Murray paints a picture that you can see as clear as day. This book started off so good that I had to take it from my husband who doesn't even read, the beginning is so spell binding that you are so eager to find out why all this stuff is happening. You get a roller coaster into his books, it may be long but every detail in it paves the way to the gripping end. I can not wait to get more from this author!Tamika Newhouse AAMBC Reviewer

Where Evil Lurks...,
This review is from: Like A Good Neighbor (Perfect Paperback)
Thirteen tenants at 666 Cypress Avenue are all at the end of their rope with their current living conditions. They just struggle everyday to survive. There seems to be a bright spot in the building when a new tenant named Raven Thorn moves into the building. Raven wows everyone with her beauty and personality. But she is on a sinister mission to carry out a well thought out plan. She's got all of the tenants under her spell except for Crystal Bright. Crystal is a young crack addict who has a good heart and knows that she needs to kick her habit. But when she looks into Raven's eyes and sees nothing but pure evil, Crystal vows that she will do everything in her power to save herself and everyone in the apartment building.Like a Good Neighbor is an innovative novel by Dwayne Murray Sr. Murray flexed his creative juices by bringing a classic good versus evil story with an urban backdrop. The series of disturbing events begin starting with the first page. Readers will immediately know that this is not a typical story. You will see just how far Raven will manipulate different people in order to carry out her deadly plans. You also feel the strong emotions of Crystal as she tries to remain drug-free and stop Raven in her tracks. There are some parts of this story where you will literally not be able to put this book down. Like a Good Neighbor is a surprising thriller that will have you eagerly waiting for the next novel from Dwayne Murray Sr. Reviewed by Radiah Hubbert for Urban Reviews

I had been looking for this book for a little bit and I lucked out and brought the last one that Amazon had. I could not wait to get this book!!! Finally, it came. God must have known because the book was delivered on Friday. Do I need to tell you that I did nothing Friday night and Saturday!!!! OMG!!!!! Mr Murray, you did it again!!!! Whewwwwwwwwwww!!! If you have not had a chance to read this book, you have no clue what you are missing. I have read all Mr. Murray's books, and he never disappoints. I read this book wondering where does he come up with his ideas!! I dont know where he gets them from, but all I can say is "Keep them coming"!!! I do not want to give the book away, but it's good versus evil. The evil character is just that, plain evil. The good charecter is very intriguing. I dont want to give the book away, but with the way Mr. Murray fashioned the characters in the book, it just makes you remember that old saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover." And he brings to light that saying is so true. You want to know what I mean by that?? Good...Get the book, prepare to do nothing for the time it takes to finish reading the book...lol..and you will know EXACTLY what I mean by the comment. Hats off to you Mr. Murray. Job Well Done. Now, I only have one more question for you. When are you dropping your next book??? lol..I need a Murray book fix right now!!!!!!

Its official, Author Dwayne Murray Sr. has become one of my favorites. With this third novel Dwayne has brought his A++ game and more. I eagerly await his next novel and wonder how he is going to top "Like a good neighbor." This book is so good I just wonder when we are going to see this on the big screen. I wonder what Dwayne was thinking when he wrote book. I know I will never cross him or make him angry, read the book you will understand why."Like a good neighbor" starts of running and never looks back. From the opening chapter I was hooked. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and needless to say Dwayne keeps bringing the fire. Its starts out in Chicago and then we come to the Bronx , NYC. 666 Cypress Ave. to be exact. If the address alone doesn't give you a clue what to expect I don't know what will. Not to mention there are thirteen tenants in this building another clue for the superstitious out there. I'm not going to tell much of the book except to explain my caption. When the new tenant Raven moves into apt 7B she befriends everyone except the local crack head Crystal Bright. Raven has a hidden agenda she comes to Steal everyone's joy Raven comes to kill all hopes and dreams Lastly, she comes to destroys families and lives. The most astonishing thing about this is she does it with words alone. I had to take look around me and wonder could this really happen? Words are very powerful so don't miss what it is that Raven is saying to make all lose their minds. SiStar Tea ARC Book Club Inc. 5 star rating

OMG!!!DEVIL IN THE FLESH!!!,
By Kisha Green "Literary Jewels" (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Like A Good Neighbor (Perfect Paperback)
In the novel Like A Good Neighbor readers will be so pleasantly delighted with his third literary effort. This is one book you will not want to put down until completion.Like A Good Neighbor is set in Bronx in the apartment building of 666 Cypress Avenue and if the number is not a indication of the novel about to unfold, consider yourself warned. The novel tells a story of all of the tenants that occupy this rat infested building and even though the living conditions are not the greatest they all are just trying to get by and make most of the current circumstances. Like a Good Neighbor was a book I could not put down because of Raven Thorne the sexy bombshell that moves in to wreck havoc amongst the tenants of Cypress Ave. She was truly the devil in the flesh and with Dwayne Murray's magnificent storyline readers alike will be engrossed by the story and all of the many messages being delivered throughout the novel. Raven moves in and is the perfect manipulator and as easily as she applies her lip gloss she plots and executes the perfect plan of self destruction amongst those who she come in contact with. Though Raven never pulls a trigger or uses a weapon her conversation is deadly. With that no one is safe in this building. The tenants begin to die due to unfortunate circumstances and one might wonder why but as you read on the only thing these people had in common besides the place they called home was those ever so pleasant conversations with Raven. This was indeed a tale of good versus evil...I truly enjoyed this novel and for those fans of Stephen King and James Patterson will thoroughly enjoy this book and for me I EAGERLY anticipate the next book from this author. Drum Roll Please!!!!,

This review is from: Like A Good Neighbor (Perfect Paperback)
WOW! An explosive start to Dwayne Murray's third novel...I can hear it now...And the Oscar goes to...drum roll please! This novel is MOVIE MATERIAL! 666 Cypress Avenue in the Bronx is your average run down building where the elevator is broken more than it is working. An abundance of roaches and mice are the norm and the owner is only a voice on the phone that you never see. The tenants who live at 666 Cypress all have a variety of personal issues, and each believe no one else's problems is worse than theirs. None of the tenants like each other and the majority of them can't stand the resident crack addict Crystal Bright. As the weather felt warmer and the days grew longer it seems the tenant's bickering become the highlight of their days. So it was like a breath a fresh air when new tenant Raven Thorne moved in. Intelligent, sexy and cool, Raven became the tenants much need confidant. But they should have thought twice about trusting their new neighbor. Raven had a dark side that only reveal itself behind the closed door of her apartment. Raven made it a point to know every body's faults and she played human against human...and stood back in the shadows and watched with glee. Everybody liked and trusted Ms Raven except one...Crystal Bright. But who's going to believe a drub addict? A diversified EXCELLENT cast of characters, an EXCELLENT plot of betrayal, murder and mayhem! Readers you are in for a treat here. The lead character Raven Thorne is an extraordinarily woman with a past that could have easily have fallen on anyone one of us, its how Raven chooses to take revenge is what's so shocking! Author Dwayne Murray lets it all hang out in this one!!! He will be getting plenty of emails...readers are going to want to pick his brain on the characters and events that take place. Everyone in my circle is already talking about "Like A Good Neighbor" and as far as I am concerned...the third one's the charm!!! P.S. How many of you eagle eyed readers spotted the two characters from the previous novel? Locksie ARC Book Club Inc.
