5.0 out of 5 stars Like Lambs To The Slaughter
Although a bit out of date by now (It was written in the 80s), Michaelsen's Like Lambs To The Slaughter provides signposts for occult influences on children that every parent should be aware of. Contrary to some of the other reviews on this page, what Michaelsen points out is both true and alarming. One may call it paranoid to consider cartoons such as the Smurfs...

1.0 out of 5 stars Lies
This women has no idea what she is talking about. Her evidence is simply false. For example, the idea that people who play role-playing games (D&D) eat babies and drink human blood is absurd. Paranoid trash. This book should be insulting to intelligent Christians.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like Lambs To The Slaughter, July 29, 2000
This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
Although a bit out of date by now (It was written in the 80s), Michaelsen's Like Lambs To The Slaughter provides signposts for occult influences on children that every parent should be aware of. Contrary to some of the other reviews on this page, what Michaelsen points out is both true and alarming. One may call it paranoid to consider cartoons such as the Smurfs occultic in content, but when the Smurfs feature Gargamel standing in the middle of a pentagram calling down a curse in the name of Beelzebub-- others would call it discerning. If you can get this book, get it. Though out of date, it will be helpful to you as you raise your children. I hope Michaelsen updates her work soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Just Continue To Be Blind & Don't Want Truth!, August 25, 2003
This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
This book is a must for Christian parents. The tricks and schemes that the enemy uses are so sneaky, and will go unnoticed by those not looking to or obeying God. Of course, a book like this will not make sense to many people of the world, who have not accepted Christ as their Lord, and Savior. It's quite alarming to see so many adults ignorant of the devices the enemy will use against their children, to destroy them in any way that he can. All's that can be said here is, if they can't see it so blatantly being portrayed in games, cartoons and other childrens items, they will miss it too when it comes in the forms of people, and other things quite unimaginable. If we only knew how many witches and warlocks teach in the school system alone, we'd be running to get our children out of the schools or systems that their in. Oh, I pray that we would wake up!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read, 4 occult knowledge seekers & parents/teachers!, November 3, 2011
This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
This is a great reference book! It is very detailed and explanatory in simple terms. I read "The Beautiful Side of Evil" by the same author first, which I highly suggest, (it is her autobiography). This book goes more in detail about the occult and explains how our children are being retrained by educators (some willing & unwilling accomplices), TV & music.

I must share that I have also listened to her audio tapes. Her writing/speeches are simple, direct & sometimes blunt. She has a dry sense of humor that comes off more in her oral presentation than in her writings. Ex: She shares with her audience that it is not enough to believe in Jesus. The question is Jesus who? (paraphrased, quotes mine)"I had a gardener named Jesus, people. I could scream Jesus all day long and the most I would get is my rose bushes pruned..."

This book is a quick, informative read! It offers plenty of reference for you to confirm/deny her assertions. In many situations, she offers specific examples and key players. A great place to start in a knowledge search of the occult. One word of caution: She is a strong Christian. Though her unique secular experiences and family background provide a dual perspective of the religious and secular points of view, it is written from a Pro-Christian perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Protect your children!!!, March 2, 2008
This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
This is a very interesting book written by former new ager Johanna Michaelsen. She shows the dangers in spirit guides, guided imagery and visualization. She also gives information on storybooks on witchcraft and the occult that can be dangerous to innocent children. Most Americans have no idea of the extent to which the New Age occult evangelists have infiltrated our public school systems, the media, books, films, toys and games, and even cartoons. She not only unveils this, but documents it as well.

Most importantly, Johanna, drawing upon her own unique understanding of the occult, spells out how to help children (or adults) who have fallen prey to these seductive philosophies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revealing, January 14, 2008

This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
I realize this is hard for people to accept as truth because most of us have not experienced such horrible things, but we must know that things are out there that we "just can't believe" and equip ourselves for those things. She gives a wonderful written testimony which I will gladly tell others to read and be on guard and PRAY, PRAY PRAY.

5.0 out of 5 stars A total EYE-OPENER every Christian should read!, August 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
This book is great-- and not just for Christian parents but I think all Christians should read this great book. It totally opened my eyes to the agendas of the media and other influences in the lives of children and adults in desensitizing the public to issues of violence, homosexuality, and the occult. I see that it's out of print now-- My suggestion is find a copy somewhere and read it-- Great Book!

5.0 out of 5 stars You need to read this if you have children in public schools, November 20, 1999
By
This review is from: Like Lambs to the Slaughter (Paperback)
Any Christian parent--in fact, any Christian concerned about the spiritual welfare of children--needs to read this book. JM presents a great deal of useful information in a thoughtful and appropriate way. What you learn from the book could well save your child from many hardships, such as occult involvement or open doorways to oppression/possession, now and in the future. While this book was written several years ago, what you learn from it will enable you to evaluate current cartoons/toys/curriculums for their potential to harm your child. Please read this book prayerfully and ask God to open your eyes to any areas where your children many be coming in contact with evil influences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Author is a light in the darkness!, July 30, 2001

Excellent!- to the critics- Occult themes are in cartoons. In certain children this draws them into experimenting in the occult. Any involvement in the occult is dangerous. This is biblical;GOD forbides it. All other religions being talked about in this book are not truth; as JESUS said he was the only way to the FATHER;This is only true Christanity; the author's faith. Therefore she is not paranoid. Critics - you need to study fundamental Christianity. It has a belief system which, obviously, you know nothing about. You need to research it.

I commend the author being a light in the darkness. PARENTS: This book helps you to monitor what is being put into your child's head. If you don't monitor them, this book will show you the deadly spiritual consequences.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for parents concerned about the spiritual welfare of their children., November 17, 2010

Parents, get this book. Written by a former witch, it delves into the issues today, both obvious and not so obvious, that are effecting the beliefs and spiritual direction of your children today and tomorrow. It will give you goosebumps, but it's all real and must be excepted as so. I have personally met a few people through work who are in to things like Dungeons and Dragons, Harry Potter, the Twilight trilogy, and other such occultic sources that are leading teenagers to become witches, spiritists, and mediums. This book is well worth its price! You will be surprised and astonished to hear of the ocultic beliefs that are permeating even the churches today. A MUST HAVE!
