It was 4 years ago that Ballet Dancer Tomasina "Tommie" Purnell first met Veteran homicide Detective Paulo Sanchez at her sister Frankie's wedding rehearsal dinner. The chemistry and attraction between them was sensational from the moment they locked eyes, but after Tommie caught Paulo in her sister's bridal suite making out with a brunette, she knew he was a complete womanizer and a bad boy to boot.

A humiliating and devastating scandal caused Tommie to flee from New York to Houston in hopes of leaving her past behind and to have a fresh start. The case hits to close to home for Paulo and he finds himself seeking the company of Tommie and soon their sizzling attraction turns into an undeniable passion. But Tommie can't help the eerie feeling that someone is watching her...

If you have not done so you should read Weapon of Seduction and Whisper My Name so that you can get a better understanding of Tommie and Paulo and even some of the secondary characters. These 2 books are just as good as this one.

I like that Smith brings a low key, fresh and casual approach to interracial dating between Tommie and Paulo, and his family. I also like that this is not a cheesy romance novel were the leading lady is perfect and can do everything and anything. Tommie Purnell is real and even though she is a very beautiful woman she is vulnerable. Fine as sin Paulo Sanchez is not your typical leading man. Smith does not paint a picture perfect gentlemen, he has secrets and baggage of his own, maybe that's why he and Tommie are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.


Two troubled souls on their journey to finding love and a killer on the loose makes this book a perfect romantic suspense.

I am a huge fan of Maureen Smith and i was so excited to read this book. I was not dissapointed. Being able to tie in all the characters and families from the other books and give a good story with suspense, great mystery and beautiful love story was awesome. I very much recommend this book to readers.

This was a smokin hot love story wrapped up in and edge of your seat murder mystery!!!! GREAT READ!!!

I really loved this book. I have never been disappointed with any of
Maureen Smith's books but this one IMO is the best so far. I was caught up in Tommie and Paulo's story from beginning to end. If possible, you should read Whisper My Name before you read this one but, even if you don't - it can stand on it's own. ENJOY!

This book is simple awesome! It was great visiting with previous characters. This book will keep you guessing! I was wrong several times. This book will not disappoint. You truley have a gift for this genre.

I really enjoyed the murder mystery plot mixed with erotic scenes. The bad good boy meets bad good girl, throw in a shady past, jealous friends and the desire to be a "good person," oh yeah and single women being murdered, you have the makings of a good story. I was enthralled with the plot and the hero sounded like a man a single woman would want to get to know. Enjoyable read.

Maureen has done it again! She is hands down my fav. author. This book was full of romance, and the love scenes lets just say I had to take a cold showe. WOW!!!!!! Not only was this a good love story it had merit and a good plot. Maureen knows how to develop her characters.

One of the best Romantic Suspense novels I have read EVER!!! It really held my attention and I just couldn't put it down. That's saying a lot because I am an avid reader and can usually predict the ending. Not so with this one. Great Read!

This one kept me guessing right up until the killer was revealed - and I was beyond shocked to find out who it was! I don't want to give anything away, so all I'll say is that the killer was probably the only person I didn't suspect. Really interesting cast of characters in this book. I was initially hesitant about reading this one because I thought that the interracial romance would be the focus, so I was pleasantly surprised that the author didn't make a big deal of it. Maureen Smith has become one of my faves, and she definitely didn't disappoint with this one. Glad I took a chance and read it!

I just started reading Maureen Smith's books on my kindle. I love them, her books are very well written. I've been reading romance novels for years and Maureen Smith is my new favorite, I've not been disappointed yet.
