4.0 out of 5 stars A fine crime story, well told
A fine crime story, I'm not familiar with the author's other works but as a fan of Darwyn Cooke's recent Parker series I picked this up to try something different. 1.0 out of 5 stars pretentious and disappointing
This is classic french - attempting to make the noir crime novel high art, and it doesn't work. The ending falls apart in melodrama. The art is nothing spectacular, certainly not worth the praise by the publisher.

A fine crime story, I'm not familiar with the author's other works but as a fan of Darwyn Cooke's recent Parker series I picked this up to try something different. This is a great crime story, with an added layer of complexity as the protagonist is, more or less, an incredibly naive professional killer. There is real beauty and tragedy as he deals with life not following his plans. This is not a heroic noir. This is not hard boiled noir. This is a European crime story touched with tragedy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!, January 27, 2012
This review is from: Like a Sniper Lining Up His Shot (Hardcover)
Another solid work From Tardi. I think Like a Sniper Lining Up His Shot was a great adaption and worked very well as a graphic novel. The illustration and simple and clear. They supplement the story well. The plot is classic noir. Simple, cliched, you don't know exactly where it is headed, but you can be sure the general direction is down, down, down.
