5.0 out of 5 stars Wow
This is a beautiful cd. I have been searching for this cd for a long time...he self-titled one... I just love her voice. I remember the first time I heard "I wanna fall in love". I was so down and this song lifted me up. I just got down with a breakup with a guy that I truly loved. "I'm almost over you" put int perspective that I need to get over him...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good music, but not for a teenager
I know that Lila is now almost 18 -- alot older than she was when this CD came out. When she was 14, she recorded many songs that should never have been sang by soneone so young. Where the heck does a 14 year old get off singing songs like "Almost Over You," "I Feel For You," and "Already Somebody's Lover"!!! The only songs on this CD...

This is a beautiful cd. I have been searching for this cd for a long time...he self-titled one... I just love her voice. I remember the first time I heard "I wanna fall in love". I was so down and this song lifted me up. I just got down with a breakup with a guy that I truly loved. "I'm almost over you" put int perspective that I need to get over him. Although I loved him, I need to get on wiht my life. Now, te only song I listen to is "Rain of Angels". My sister recently went into the hospital with Cardiomyopothy, and I have been praying to the Goddess to le her stay with us. As I am writing this, I see her face and hear Lila's song, and am crying. I thank you, Lila, for singing such a beautiful song. This cd is great! I recommend it for anyone who is having troubles in their life, or just wants to be happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whatever happened to Lila?, June 10, 2007
This review is from: Lila (Audio CD)
Lila was a hit at such a young age, battling it out with other young stars at the time like Leann Rimes, and Jessica Andrews. Whatever happend to Lila? Her debut album was her best, and she was amazing, showing a maturity beyond her years. There was the young and fun " I wanna fall in love", and the original "yippy ky yay" that was fun to listen to.
But there were the deep and soulful songs "A rain of angels", "i feel for you", and "almost over you" that would still be hits today!

Oh- and "Just one little kiss" too....a hit from the album that is as fresh and fun today as it was 10 years ago!

You must sample " Already somebody's lover" as well. There are just so many gems on this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still My Favorite by Lila, March 15, 2002
By
This review is from: Lila (Audio CD)
Lila McCann is one of the most underrated country artists, her debut CD is proof of that! While "I Wanna Fall in Love" deals with finding someone (something we all hope for), "Down Came a Blackbird" (one of my favorite songs) equally deals with escaping the marital not-so bliss. "Changing Faces" sadly states the misery of a relationship with someone who changes before your eyes leaving you asking "does he love me or her?" "Yippy Ky Yay" is written in that fresh yet traditional country style with pleasant melody and fun, catchy lyrics.

All in all, it's still one of my favorite country CDs- check this girl out!

I wish I'd bought this CD sooner.. It made me into a country fan!~ Lila has a beautiful voice and she was so young when this CD was recorded.

1. I Wanna Fall In Love- A catchy song that any teenage girl could relate to. It's about wanting to fall in love and have that special feeling

2. Just One Little Kiss- A fun song about a girl whos friends w/ a guy and then they kiss and she realizes what shes missed out on.

3. Almost Over You- My favorite ballad on the album. Its so meaningful and it has so much emotion and shows off Lila's beautiful voice. Its about almost being over someone you loved but not quite yet

4. Down Came A Blackbird- This song at first glance seemed.. well menaingless.. But listen to it and the lyrics will make u think otherwise. Plus Lilas voice really shines in this song~

5. Already Someones Lover- A song about knowing that ur special someone is out there but u havent found him yet.. but in the song it has alot of hope by saying she knows hes out there somewhere

6. Changing Faces- Its actually pretty good.. But its not one I listen to alot

7. Yippy Ky Yay- An upbeat fun country song

8. I Feel For You- Beautiful lyrics where Lilas voice once again shines

9. Saddle My Dreams- Not one of the ones that stand out but not a bad song.. but then again nothing about this CD is bad.

10. Rain Of Angels- Beautiful song.. An all around beautiful song to listen to..

This CD to me is a perfect 10! I cant imagine not owning it~

I think Lila Mc Cann will be as big a hit as Leann Rimes, if not bigger. Great sound, perfect music for her style. Love "Down Came A Blackbird"

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet & Sassy..., August 30, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Lila (Audio CD)
Yet another one of my all-time favourite Country recording artists, without question, is the teenage singing sensation Lila McCann. While there are other Country recording artists that I perhaps enjoy more, I am definitely hooked on Lila McCann. With an incredibly capable voice that can be both enchantingly soft and powerfully charged, she has the ability to tantalize your ears, reaching fluidly all the way through to grab ahold of your heart and soul, captivating your attention and immersing you in rapt attraction until the very last crystal-clear note. I do not pretend to know anything about the Country music scene, but as an avid fan, I know for a fact that this young woman does not get nearly enough recognition or radio play. With the talent she possesses, she ought to be getting a whole lot more recognition. Without any hesitation I confidently assert that she is the most talented teenage Country star I have ever heard, easily surpassing the highly overrated LeAnn Rimes, but she is nearly all but unheard of. I just don't get it. Right from her first Top Ten hit single, "I Wanna Fall In Love" (which hit #3 on CMT here in Canada) I rushed out to buy her self-titled CD and have not been disappointed at all. Invariably when I purchase a CD after only hearing a single release I am dissappointed, but not so in this case. All 10 tracks, from the heart-felt "Already Somebody's Lover" that throws you into silent reflection to the toe tapping "Yippy-Ky-Yay" that makes you break out into a huge smile, is an instant success... as far as I'm concerned. Lila McCann is an incredibly talented, spirited, and energetic sensation, relentless in her enthusiasm and committed to life. She really should be getting more recognized than she is. This is indisputably one of the greatest young female talents that the Country music scene has turned out since . . . well, since ever.

I could stop rambling at any time... (chuckle).

5.0 out of 5 stars A Phenomenal Debut..., October 9, 2001
By
This review is from: Lila (Audio CD)
This is without a doubt one of the BEST debut albums I've heard for a musician. The music is very upbeat, catchy and can turn any mood into an even better one. The disc kicks off with the hit single "I Wanna Fall In Love," one the best country songs in a litte bit. Also included is a great remake of the early 80's classic "Almost Over You." In my opinion, this version far surpasses the original. Other standouts include "Yippy Ky Yay," "Already Somebody's Lover," and "A Rain of Angels." Lila sings each song with such poise, grace and emotion, it's hard to believe she was so young when this disc was done. She has so much maturity for a young lass of her age, and has only gotten better with time. I'm just looking for the opportunity to see her in concert, and hope that she has a long and fulfilling career in the industry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond fabulous!, August 14, 1998

I went and bought this CD for one song, Down Came A Blackbird. Now I have fallen so in love with the other songs, I barely listen to it. Just One Little Kiss is the best song, I can't stop listening to it, it's soo upbeat. Yippey Ki Yay is great. This girl is not your country stereotype. Buy this CD because you want to have fun. 5 stars!
