Charged with the care of her younger siblings, Lila feels that she has no time for such frivolities as love--that is, until Daniel, a young doctor fleeing a love affair in Boston, enters her life. Original.

i loved it,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lila's Dance (Homespun) (Paperback)
This was one of the sweetest books that I have read. Lila is the oldest of seven children. Their mother has died and she is responsible for their welfare because their dad is a drunk. She meets daniel, the town doctor, and with each meeting, their feelings for each other grow. Its nice to know that they overcame the obstacles that prevented them from being together. The only unrealistic part of the novel was that Daniel was willing to take on all of her brothers and sisters(six of them) plus the other children they want to have. All in all, it was a sweet book.

A joy to read and character's who touch your heart!,
This review is from: Lila's Dance (Kindle Edition)
I must admit I read only a few historical romances, but Jill Metcalf now goes into the 'few' I won't miss.
I loved Lila - she's such a charming heroine that you want to keep reading about her. And her questions to the doctor were so adorable. (am not going to spoil the story, sorry) When you read any historical, you see how women's lives have progressed, and unfortunately in some areas regressed. I know I wouldn't do well going back in time. Jill Metcalf has given the reader a fabulous, entertaining read - so enjoy Lila's Dance and keep an eye out for any book Jill writes!

"With warm humor, candor and a knowledge of human nature, Ms. Metcalf has given this reader a haven of rest and relaxation frequently sought in this era of confusion and chaos. An all round treat for the spirit!"
