3.0 out of 5 stars It's alright - not great, not bad; very, very short March 31, 2013

This is a classic Find the Difference games, and the genre on which the developer built its business. You are playing with a little green vampire - apparently Emma's friend - whom is Easter Egg hunting with Emma. The game defaults to Landscape, which, given its purpose this is the best way to play it.

There are three levels of difficulty, Easy, Normal, and Hard. You must complete Normal before unlocking Hard. It took less than five minutes to go through every level, 16 total, in Normal difficulty. I completed the Hard setting in just over that time. Then again, I either diverge or converge my eyes (cross them) and look at both images. Doing so makes finding differences too easy regardless of setting. For those that don't approach this using these techniques I can see how the difficulty ratings would be helpful and challenging.

Two hints, Shake and Reveal, are available under a refresh period with Reveal taking much longer to refresh, and I did try them but I didn't find them particularly helpful. Still, some folks will like them.

When you finish the game, you unlock survival mode. The game doesn't bother to tell you what's going on. It turns out to be a race against the clock, starting with 2:00 minutes, and just one difference is revealed until it is found. Incorrect guesses and you lose 2 seconds. Correct guesses gets an additional 10 seconds. The game is scored, and because the game has network access, I must assume it is for the scoreboard and advertising of its own games.

The music is okay, as are the graphics, but neither are anything to write home about.

Difference Games is a frequent contributor to the Free App of the Day, and usually have apps that are hit or miss.

4.0 out of 5 stars okay time filler for kids March 31, 2013

I played through on normal and hard - relatively easy to do - used the cheats only because I was curious to see how they work. my 8 yr old will like this for a little while but it's interest will wane quickly as it is the same thing on replay (even with slightly different differences!) thank you for the free Easter app - would not have 1.99 for this but good for free. Happy Easter all! may you have a blessed and safe holiday!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's nice for Easter March 31, 2013
Verified Purchase
The "Find the Difference" app is short (16 levels), and relatively easy on all the modes (Easy, Normal, and Hard), but it is fun and cute for Easter. It has girls looking for eggs, Easter bunnies, baskets, and going on adventures, all of which are well illustrated. It is nice for children to play on Easter to get them ready to hunt their eggs! The faster you find the differences, the higher your score, so there is an element of competition there, children could compete against one another, or against their parents.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute but a little creepy. April 12, 2013

As a free app, I have definitely had my money's worth. I have played it quite a bit. There are 3 levels of play. It is easy enough to not be frustrating, but hard enough to be challenging. I had no problems with it downloading and have been able to play each level multiple times. Some of the free ones I have gotten malfunction after a few rounds, so this is nice. The vampire characters are a bit creepy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun April 9, 2013

This is now one of my grand daughter's favorite games on the Kindle Fire HD. She enjoys puzzle type games and this one is a little harder than the others she plays - but very importantly it raises the level of thinking required to find the different items. A challenge she greatly enjoys.

This is a fun game but once you find all of the differences there is really no reason to play again. The differences are difficult enough that it takes a while to find them.

Games like this are great for teaching young children that sometimes things aren't all what you think they are. Lilith and family are so darned cute and well behaved. This is not a game that contains anything frightful or morose. The developers have struck gold with their graphics and storyline. Needless to say, getting it free was a joy. Would I spend a dollar or two for this cutie pie game? Sure would! Clementine loves searching for the differences in the illustrations. Are they easy for a 5 year old? I'd say they are just right. She does have to use some analytic thought to get through each page, but that is what makes this a fine learning tool.

It's more for kids which is sad since I don't have any but it passes the time just the same. Kids will love the colorful scenes and the simple-ness of it.
