Lillian Too makes Feng Shui clear and a lot easier to understand than anyone else I have read. Her new book is subtitled "168 Ways to Success, but has 179 different tips to get you started in Feng Shui, with very lovely illustrations.

While reading this book won't make you an expert overnight (that takes years of study and experience), it will get you started off right. You do need to purchase a compass (these are not expensive and can be found in camping stores in any mall.) The compass helps you can locate the good and bad areas of your office or home and take some action. For what ever reason, many people report that these tips seem to work.

On the more practical side, Feng Shui also teaches you to de-clutter your home. Clutter saps energy (as anyone who feels energized by walking into a newly-cleaned room can tell you.) One Chinese proverb say that, for good luck, you should move 27 things. This is one way to motivate kids or even yourself to pick up a room. Another good rule is to keep the lid down on the uh, throne in the bathroom. Not only does this prevent "energy" from leaving the house, it also is more sanitary.

Some people have reported that their business or worklife improves if they rearrange their office. While this isn't possible in everybody's workplace, there are other techniques in the book to change the flow of energy to improve things.

A bit of bio data on Lillian Too is interesting because she is so successful--she has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and was the first woman in Asia to become a Managing Director of a publicly listed company in Malaysia. She was the first woman in Asia to become CEO of a Hong Kong bank. After she managed a chain of department stores, she left to become a mother, then started writing. She is now the top author on Feng Shui. (I guess her tips for success must work!)

Only a small fraction of this book pertains to living space. The rest is somewhat confusing advice about makeup and hairstyles and where to sit during meetings at work and where to place your phone at work and the best type of corporate logos for buildings and good luck charms and things like that. And the author's feng shui advice is VERY specific to exactly what she likes, rather than feng shui principles. And the pictures for the small living space section would show a bad feng shui room as often as a good room, but never a good room to correct the bad room. I got the impression the interior photos, as well as most of the other photos, were taken from a selection of stock photos, not designed for this book.

I have known about Feng Shui for many years but never felt inspired to impliment it until I came across Lillian Too's Feng Shui. It was so simple and really gave me the feeling that I could indeed make dramatic changes in my life. I have made phenominal changes since reading this book. In addition I have inspired many others to purchase this book because of my enthusiasm. There are a number of business associates who have helped me in my career and I will be purchasing the book for them as a thank you gift. I have tried to find this book in the bookstores and it is always sold out. I carry my copy around with me like a bible in my attempt to memorize many key factors. It's the best. I highly recommend it.

Lillian Too says on the book cover that she simplifies feng shui to make it easy and accessible. I read this book and found she delivered on this promise. I am therefore happy to recommend this book very highly. many tips, though simple worked. I am surprised but pleased.

Advice that is easy to comprehend, beautiful graphics, and a treasure of feng shui tips make this book one a reader will turn to again and again! Beginners will find the down to earth text and eyecatching, richly colored photographs and drawings make for an excellent introduction to Feng Shui. I devoured this book and wish to apply the principals as soon as possible! Lillian Too has got to be one of the foremost authors on Feng Shui, and I have plans to purchase the other books she offers on the subject. If you can only own one book on Feng Shui, this is it!

When I first read this book I was just learning the ropes of feng shui and found Lillian Too's format easy to read and an intriguing introduction, but I was left to decipher a flood of questions and a whole bunch of conflicting facts. Now that I've grown to understand and apply traditional feng shui, and since I've been formally studying the science of feng shui for two years, I finally understand the hows and whys behind many of Too's mysterious tips. My criticism with this book is that it contains some all-out errors (one example: the location of the five yellows in 2002) and lightly throws out some "advanced" tips without explaining the reasons behind them at all. The eager beginner will take these tips as facts and will apply them in his or her own home -- even the erroneous and conflicting ones. Too mixes several different types of feng shui practices in her tips. The beginner may hear terms like "compass school," "form school," and "flying star," and won't be able to separate them. This will undoubtedly be confusing and will lead to a poorly applied mix of the theories. My advice is to find a book that explains the differences and learn them one by one at a slow pace. Come back to this one later with a broader perspective and a better understanding.

First lets clarify that Lilian Too's approach is to use the "compass Feng Shui" methodology as opposed to "form approach". This may make the application of the principals slightly more difficult but her book is well presented and easy to read. I suggest you compliment this book with another like Karen rauch Carters book which uses a different approach. You can make the decison yourself of what to apply.

Excellent Book

This is the fifth Feng Shui book I've bought and it's by far the simplest and easiest to follow. I've started using Feng Shui 2 years ago and it's changed my life and brought me career success. The other books I read including one of Lillian Too's earlier books were too technical rather than providing a bottom line cure or ways to activate auspicious locations.

Lillian Too makes Feng Shui easy for beginners. The book provides expert advice with beautiful photo illustrations. The read is interesting and recommendations are easy to follow. Definitely add this edition to your home library.

This book is different from the other geomancy books i have seen. I like the writer's style in presenting feng shui as a fun and practical thing and not scary or vague. Very easy to understand.
