1.0 out of 5 stars Is It Love Making Book ?
I wonder whether this book is to teach reader how to make love by applying Feng Shui.

This is the first time I had ever read that Feng Shui can enhance love making.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creating Love Opportunities, August 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Lillian Too's Easy-To-Use Feng Shui For Love: 168 Ways To Happiness--Enhance Your Relationships Energize Your Friendships, Maximize Your Love Potential (Paperback)
Lillian Too's Easy to Use Feng Shui for Love is for any one who wants to increase options for love relationships. I followed advice on enhancing and balancing my romance area and five minutes later a person I am interested in getting to know better called on the phone! Coincidence? I don't think so! Recommendations made in this book are easy to accomplish. Of course, what you do with these newly created opportunities (for love relationships) are entirely up to you. It's not magic. In addition, I have enjoyed my home more in readying it for prospective romance. It enpowers me (somewhat) that I can affirmatively put into place arrangements of pictures, candles, sculptures and the like, to enhance the interior design of my home, but also promote the "right" person in my life. Lillian Too is knowledgeable and provides good insight to feng shui practices that will appeal to a variety of people and decorating tastes. Single men and women, gay or straight, a must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Activate Love and Enhance Romance in Your Life Immediately, October 26, 2009
This review is from: Lillian Too's Easy-To-Use Feng Shui For Love: 168 Ways To Happiness--Enhance Your Relationships Energize Your Friendships, Maximize Your Love Potential (Paperback)
What better person in the world to write this Easy-to-Use Feng Shui for Love (and romance!) book than internationally well-known Feng Shui author, speaker, teacher, Lillian Too. Ms. Too gives a special advising note for the Westerners reading her book that Feng Shui Love and Romance are "inextricably bound" together with marriage and family. When one is not ready for that, then don't fully practice all of these elements, just start a little and practice opening up to that kind of full-on committed relationship love.

First, the layout of the book from Collins & Brown makes it very approachable for Westerners just getting started with Feng Shui. Plus, they use a lot of illustrations and beautiful creative idea stimulating photographs throughout. So we get it.

Since the LOOK INSIDE pix here at Amazon is a little small, without revealing what all the 168 Methods that Ms. Too provides us with, here is the list of the chapters so you know what you will be getting, this is about love and romance AND activating those in relationship to and in conjunction with our other family relationships...

*Chapter One: Feng Shui for Good Family Relationships*
Includes some of the tips we see all the time in feng shui articles online about mirrors in the bedroom... Ms. Too then give other ideas about what to do in your bedroom and some ideas about how to balance and harmonize and softly correct any placement and layout issues your marriage bedroom might have.

*Chapter Two: Feng Shui for Romance*
Includes a harmonious incorporation of Western cultural elements while using traditional Eastern Feng Shui. So don't all have to fly to Asia (oh wouldn't that be fun!) to purchase elements for enhancing and harmonizing our apartments and homes.

*Chapter Three: Fine-tuning Your Love Corner*
This chapter may initially appear too subtle to the Type A sort of Westerner's mindset who might at first flush ONLY look at the elements and objects they have in their bedroom (which BTW, is extremely important, but that is for another chapter further down.). Your Love Corner is very important. These are soft and subtle tips to do with your home. The beautiful photographs illustrate examples for what to do and then you go make it your own, of course, with experimentation.

One thing to remember, and it is illustrated throughout this beautiful reference book, is that Feng Shui and Ms. Too's tips and formulas are best done in a clear, clutter-free environment, that is also softly (a good combination of Yin/Yang energy) light, some rooms brighter (living room, kitchen) and some more softly (bedroom). If you need some help with your clutter (this is something I personally tend towards)Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui is an excellent help. And remember, a few of these tips - Love Corners, Personal Love Space - are best done together. So like you don't have a beautiful Love Corner and an overly yin energy messy bedroom.

*Chapter Four: Energizing Your Personal Love Space*
Chapter Three and Chapter Four have been the two most important for me and for my dating and relationship coaching clients. Just a cautionary note to the Type-A sort of Western mind, yes, you can start to do these all today and this weekend. However, these tips have the best results when you incorporate a few at a time, softly shifting your energy, and activating for love and romance. Think of it like a full weekend project, that you do your spring cleaning first over one weekend, clean and scrub, open the windows and let the fresh yang activating sunlight and air in. And then over the next few weeks, start to bring in the new Feng Shui Love and Romance activators into your life.

An excellent note in enhancing and activating your personal love space is her recommendations around incorporating the element of fire with the color red and candles: small amounts, some pink is softer, small amounts of red, a few candles. Were you to be applying these tips and incorporating too large an amount of the element of fire would be counterproductive. See her illustrations to really get how you would do this best in your home.

*Chapter Five: Using Chinese Astrology for Love*
These are all the fun examples of the different Chinese Astrology animals and their good pairings. Ms. Too is very thorough and helpful with these examples.

*Chapter Six: Feng Shui Love Rituals*
Any behavior we do each day or on a regular basis, our habits, is a ritual. Don't let your own spiritual or religious beliefs keep you from examining this chapter thoroughly and considering incorporating one or two. Now of course as a single person you will not be able to practice incorporating red into YOUR wedding until there is one (lol). However, you can start now by bringing in small elements of red into your home with small red candles or 2 or 3 red roses.

*Chapter Seven: Protecting Relationships*
Many singles in the "single-never-married" category are thinking only in terms of attracting love and getting married. Then what? Even if you don't incorporate all of these elements into your life now, considering how you protect your relationship going forward is an excellent mindset to develop now even while you are single.

*Chapter Eight: Enhancing Love with Flying Star Feng Shui*
This chapter is superb and a marvelous addition and takes a little more concerted effort to incorporate. It is more of a project for over a few weekends, not on your list of what to do TODAY. That is because you will need to consider your Flying Star natal chart and grab a compass to know PRECISELY in what direction your front door faces.

*Chapter Nine: Activating Romance Luck*
Similar in a manner to the theme of Chapter 6 with just more more more tips, including the very important reminder to balance energy of the yin and yang. Really, a number of these rituals, experiment with them. However, most of the rituals and practices (writing in your journal every day is a ritual, don't worry that you are doing anything too too terribly weird, you are just doing something DIFFERENT) are ones which are best done after you have already enhanced and activated your Love Corner and Personal Love space. Not that these are more advanced. Rather these tips are cumulative.

EXCELLENT POINT: Ms. Too reminds single ladies to bring in SOME masculine images (think like a postcard of a sports hero whom you admire, a Japanese Samurai image, and European portrait of a King or Prince, something small-medium, not huge and over-dominating) into your environment so your home is not TOO ying. And for the bachelors, Ms. Too reminds men to incorporate a few small yin elements in their living quarters as well. Often when someone is single, their abode is overly one energy which is not Feng Shui attractive for magnetizing love and romance to you.

*Chapter Ten: Finding Family Luck with the Eight Precious Objects*
Ms. Too wraps up her presentation of Feng Shui for Love and Romance with the focus on FAMILY which is as she says in her introduction, very in-keeping with the Asian perspective of Love and Romance - That it is always about Committed Marriage and Family. She offers a number of tips for enhancing certain characteristics and family relationship protection.

All in all, Ms. Too's book is both fun and practical. She takes a richly nuanced and complex topic, Feng Shui, and introduces it richly and with sufficient depth to make it interesting and engaging. Her use of photograph after photograph makes her tips clear to the Western mind to whom many of these ideas are new. Because of the complexity of the topic which she makes easy as well as the sheer VOLUME of the number of tips (168!), this makes for a wonderful reference book to which you will refer again and again over time as you start to implement a number of them and enjoy the results of their cumulative effect. Buy and start implementing this weekend.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of formulas, January 5, 2001
This review is from: Lillian Too's Easy-To-Use Feng Shui For Love: 168 Ways To Happiness--Enhance Your Relationships Energize Your Friendships, Maximize Your Love Potential (Paperback)
Just a request for the people who have obtained successful results from using this book. Please let us know which rules apply for you.

Lillian Too's "Easy-to-use feng shui for love: 168 ways to happiness" , obviously, has a lot of formulas. Most of them are very consistent, which is good. The confusing thing is which formula works best? How do we prioritize this book?

The best part of the book is that it offers a lot of solutions. This means that most people can find something that will work for them, whether they live in a small apartment or a big mansion. In addition, the book contains a lot of pictures and illustrations which help the readers obtain some clear ideas.

However, having so many formulas make it hard to determine which formula I should use.

So reviewers and readers who used this book successfully, please let us know which formula worked for you! It will be helpful, even if you just name the number of the formula that works.

Thanks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work for me!, December 31, 2006

This review is from: Lillian Too's Easy-To-Use Feng Shui For Love: 168 Ways To Happiness--Enhance Your Relationships Energize Your Friendships, Maximize Your Love Potential (Paperback)
I read this book in early August '06 and tried half of the tips from this book: from tips #119 & 148, 49-day signing ritual to #41 double-happiness symbols, madrin ducks, flying geese, dragon/phoenix, mystic knot, and peonies, etc). None of them work for me as of today, the last day of 2006! Some tips are impossible to follow in this US, unless you live in Chinatown. (i.e. tip# 149: hang love banners to catch the dragon's breath). I read some FS books, including Lillian Too's Total FS, and became confused. In this book, Lillian Too mentioned in tip #65, hang a 6-rod wind chime at NW of home and bedroom. Some FS books argued that wind chime is not good for keeping in the bedrooms. There are two groups of FS masters so it's up to you to follow which book you are reading.

Honestly, none of the FS tips work for me, not just for romance. I don't see any improvement with FS. It was very interesting to learn FS but some tips cost pretty much, especially when you purchase those FS products on-line. Save your $$$ and read FS books from library if you are interested in FS. One of the book is very entertaining, "Move your stuff, change your life" by Karen Rauch Carter, available here at amazon. Karen's tips are easy to follow with your existing things and not very Chinese-ish like Lillian Too's. Good if you live in the West. Only good thing is FS helped me to clear stuff (cluster) in my room and rearranged by "Bagua". But again, none of them work for me as of today!
