1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time
I don't get it - except for several songs recycled from the first soundtrack album (did they think we wouldn't notice?) nothing here has anything to do with the movie. Jessica Simpson??? Yikes!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
I waited for a long time for this CD to come out and I just got it yesterday. This is the track list: 1.Rock A Hula Baby, 2.Lahaina, 3.Blue Hawaii (by Elvis), 4.Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride, 5.My Little Grass Shack, 6.Coconut, 7.We Make A Rainbow, 8.The Old Hawaiian Way, 9.Island in the Sun, 10.Pineapple Princess, 11.Love Me Tender (not sung by Elvis), 12.He Mele No Lilo, and 13.Aloha Oe. I listened to it and I liked tracks 1-5, "Coconut" is OK (though somewhat annoying), I didn't like "We Make a Rainbow", even though its message is good, "The Old Hawaiian Way" was pretty good, I DO NOT like "Island in the Sun" (no real reason),"Pinapple Princess" was very weird-sounding, but OK (I wouldn't want a whole album of this, though), I think "Love Me Tender" would sound better if Elvis sung it, "He Mele No Lilo" from the movie is great, and FINALLY I have a copy of "Aloha Oe" sung by Tia Carrere which they SHOULD have put on the soundtrack (even though they messed up the background and said on the back Tia "Carrera" sung it) My favorite song other than the three from the movie is "Rock A Hula Baby". Well now the truth. This, other than having a few songs from the movie, has nothing to do with Lilo & Stitch. I like the soundtrack better, but if you like Hawaiian music or would like a kid-slanted introduction to that type of music, this is a good album.
If I ever have a Luau, then I'll play this there. So If you're a big fan of the characters Lilo and Stitch, you might be disappointed with this CD. But if you're someone looking for some tropical tunes, then Rock A Hula Baby!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the movie soundtrack CD, May 16, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
Forget the movie soundtrack CD - it is basically Elvis songs. This is by far the better choice of fun and upbeat Hawaiian tunes. Kids and adults alike are sure to enjoy this CD if you loved the movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars music fan, November 22, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
this CD is better than the soundtrack...while am old enough to appreciate and remember elvis in hawaii movies, his music doesn't make you feel like you're in hawaii...this CD more closely gives the island flavor than the soundtrack...if you are looking for the "island sound" or flavor, this CD is better than the soundtrack. This CD gave impetus for me (novice afficianado Hawaiian music) to dig deeper into the traditional Hawaiian music genre. Our whole family enjoys this CD...hope you like it as much as we do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant, November 21, 2002
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
Nothing deep, by any means, but simply a light, airy listen, with a compilation of quirky tropical tunes. Even though the songs (most of them) weren't in the movie, they remind me of it, of the whole Hawaiian atmosphere. My favorite tracks, excluding the ones included on the previous CD, are Blue Hawai'i (by Elvis), My Little Grass Shack, Coconut (it's just bizarre, but addicting, making you smile with absurdity), Island in the Sun, Pineapple Princess, and Love Me Tender. Again, it's nothing dramatic or swirling, but it you adored Lilo & Stitch (And how can you not?) and all it stood for, this CD might just bring some warmth into a cold day. Don't think about it. Listen and pretend you're there.

4.0 out of 5 stars For A Music Fan, April 14, 2003

This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
"He Mele No Lilo" is the first song in the movie, and it is on both the "Island Favorites" and Soundtrack CDs. I'm not a big Elvis fan, so this CD was a much better choice for me. "Aloha OE" is the song that Lana (big sister) sings to Lilo in the hammock after she explains that the family will be broken up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music :), May 1, 2011
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
This was one of the first Cd's I ever bought when I was younger and I LOVED it! I'm actually trying to find it again to purchase (about 8 yrs. later) since my last one was really scratched (and now lost from moving so much). I don't know about how 'authentic' the Hawaiian music is because I've never been (or lived) there, however, I loved it! It's great party music and also really good workout music (if you like Hawaiian-type music (or Elvis))! I would recommend it for any kid you want to buy a CD for or anyone that is a kid at heart :)

5.0 out of 5 stars great fun album, November 1, 2008
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch: Island Favorites (Audio CD)
I was really surprised that I liked this so much. It was a fun CD to listen to - with some really good music
Rock a Hula Baby ( usually don't like covers, but this beats the elvis original )
Lahina = my least favorite, but kinda a fun song
Hawaiian Roller coaster Ride - love this one
My Little Grass Shack = Lisa Loeb does a nice rendition of this old favorite
Coconut = nilsson, need i say more?
We make a rainbow = the kamehameha school childrens chorus is fantastic!!
The Old Hawaiian way = YES!!!
Island in the Sun = belafonte island favorite
Pineapple Princess = always loved this song
Love me tender = didn't seem to fit here? - but nice cover
Me Mele No lilo = again loved this music
Aloha oe = great finish

I have one question = how do I get the art work that was in the inside cover - i have looked all over the internet. they were like little posters / postcards? - want the ones that mention KAUAI - any help out there?
