I love this sountrack! I guess it helps that Lilo and Stitch is my favorite movie, but this soundtrack is definitely a winner.

This thing is packed with Elvis hits from start to finish, and all of us old folk will be moving our hips again to these old tunes that were still pretty popular when we were young. It's nice to see the King resurrected once again for an amazing movie.

Then there's two Hawaiian songs which are simply beautiful, very happy and very traditional in feel. The sountrack opens with Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride which is very fun, used at the beginning of the film, and later we hear He Mele No Lilo which is the one they played while surfing later in the show. There's a version of Can't Help Falling In Love by A-Teens, which is pretty good, and Burning Love by Wynona, which is spectacular! And if you saw the movie you'll notice that this song has Stitch on guitar at the ending, it's worth a smile to think about that scene while listening to this song.

I've said it in another review of the movie, that Stitch is my fav Disney character, and the fact that in the movie Stitch played some of these songs (with the help of Lilo), makes the whole thing more enjoyable.

The last three tracks are score from the movie. Not as exciting as what came before it, but I guess it's necessary to include them. It is fun though to listen and try and pick out the parts from the movie that they came from, Stitch to the rescue is of course from the part where Lilo is kidnapped by Gantu, forcing Stitch and Jumba to fly after him in their own spaceship, as stitch tries to rescue Lilo.

Very good fun. There's only one problem...this sountrack doesn't include Nani singing "Aloha 'Oe"! How sad! I was really looking forward to hearing that song again, as that part of the movie had me in tears, yes, tears. And lot's of them. Why they didn't inlcude it here is beyond me. So I take 1/2 a point off for that and give this sountrack 4 1/2 stars. Still very good though, be sure to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something For Everyone, June 12, 2002

This Soundtrack has a pleasing variety of songs. The big attraction is likely to be the popular Elvis Presley tunes. But other tracks feature a Hawaiian children's choir that can sing with some beautiful harmonies, A-Teens singing a pop version of the well-known song "Can't Help Falling In Love With You," and country singer Wynonna performing the song titled "Burning Love." The CD concludes with three tracks of dynamic instrumentals, and all together it's a cute collection of music.

I figure this soundtrack, and maybe the movie will probably be a hit with Elvis fans. As it has a few entertaining surprises along that line. I'm not a die-hard Elvis fan, but really loved the CD from begining to end. I think it's recommendable because this soundtrack is one that can be enjoyed by all. For kids and adults alike and even if you've seen the movie or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Excellent Soundtrack For An Excellent Movie!, June 23, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch (Audio CD)
The story of Lilo and Stitch is about a crazed bio-engineered experiment titled "626" A.K.A: Stitch. And a lonely little girl from Hawaii named Lilo, who wishes for a friend and gets Stitch.Well Stitch is also from outer space, and was going to be exiled onto a deserted planet but escapes and steals a space cruiser and crashes onto the planet...Earth...Hawaii to be exact.Stitch acts like a dog so he can be Lilo's pet.But two space aliens are trying to bring him back to outer space. So it all becomes a big mess. But I'm supposed to be reviewing the soundtrack aren't I? This is an awesome soundtrack, with 5 Elvis songs,2 covers of Elvis songs by the Country singer Wynonna doing "Burning Love" and the A*Teens remake of "Can't Help Falling In Love With You".Along with with 3 original scores from the movie. Also did I mention you get 2 original songs from the Kamehahmeha childrens chorus:Hawaiian style! In the CD you also get pictures from the movie! So,It's very complete package with great songs so it is definitely recommended by me to whoever reads this review.I hope this review has been helpful to you. PS:This is my 10th review! Thank you to all who have been reading my reviews,I really appreciate it.

Hey Guys and Gals. If anyone knows where I can get the lyrics for the song "He Mele No Lilo" on the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack please tell me. I have the sound track and it is awesome. The Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus is exellent. Please e-mail if you have any info about the song's lyrics. Thanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Fun Fun, June 11, 2002

This is Disney's most fun soundtrack in quite awhile. You can't help but smile then get up and dance along to this collection! Five of the 12 songs are Elvis originals, and sure to be the most crowd pleasing tracks presented. There seems to be great potential for animating to these songs. I look forward to what the Disney animators have come up with. Strangely, 2 or 3 of the tracks stat off with a few seconds of dialog. I don't care for this kind of thing, but at least they are very short sequences.

My favorite tracks though are the the 2 original Hawaiian themed songs by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu. They hit on just the right combination of authenticity and pop. They're sure to become staples of luao parties across the country. I'd love to hear a whole album of material like this!

'Burning Love' by Wynonna is a rocking rendition with a country twang. But the A*Teans version of '"Can't Help Falling In Love" is too sugary sweet to be consumed. One listen was more than enough for me.

The three tracks of score are good enough, but you'll be listening to the Elvis and Hawaiian songs much more. And that's the real problem. These score tracks take up nearly 14 minutes on a 40 minute CD. That means if you're not planning on listenig to the score, you're only getting 25 minutes of music.

As usual, a limited edition (30,000 units) of the soundtrack is available from Disney stores and the Disney Parks. It doesn't offer any extra tracks, but does include a cool picture insert that changes between two images when tilted.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing soundtrack from an amazing movie!!, December 31, 2002

Aloha!

Wow, where to begin! Let me start off by saying that this is an absolutely amazing soundtrack for what definitely my favourite movie of all time: Lilo and Stitch! :D

There is never a dull moment to be had on this soundtrack, as it rocks and weaves it's spell from start to finish. The album opens with the powerful, upbeat, and incredibly happy 'Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,' performed by the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus, one of two such tracks on this album, and they put on a stunning performance. I'll be the first to admit that this track always has me grinning from ear to ear, it really is amazing and will make your day instantly better after just one listen! :D

And it doesn't end there. This soundtrack is jam-packed with Elvis classics that really get you swiveling those ol's hips, and Wynona drives it home with a specacular remake of Burning Love, which once again is so upbeat and happy that you can't help but feel like you're having the time of your life.

A string of Elvis classics follow. Suspicious Minds, Heartbreak Hotel, and Devil In Disguise, (with a special performance by Stitch on guitar!). Throw in another excellent track by the Children's Chorus, He Mele No Lilo, which is just as powerful and amazing as the first track. Another rockin' Elvis track (Hound Dog...what a performance!), and of course the wonderful Can't Help Falling In Love by A*Teens, and you have the perfect soundtrack!

But just when you think it couldn't get any better, the album closes with three scores from the movie, Stitch to the Rescue, You Can Never Belong, and I'm Lost, which guide you through a whole range of moods, from playful, to sadness, adventure to surprise....to finally ease you out of the album. :D

All I can say, is get this soundtrack the first chance you get. It doesn't truly feel like a soundtrack, but more like a collection of great classic Elvis hits, thrown in with incredible remakes, and perfect mixture of classic Hawaiian music, performed in a way you'd never dream possible.

And I'll be honest, Lilo and Stitch is my favourite movie of all time, there's just something about it that makes me love this movie, this sountrack, and all of it's characters than any other Disney movie before it. And if you're still in doubt, consider this: I saw the movie in theatre 6 times, have the VHS and the DVD, and I still haven't tired of it yet. That's saying something! So, hurry and get this one, you won't regret it!

Well, that's all for now!

Aloha nui loa!

This is a fun, upbeat soundtrack album. Great vintage Elvis, along with Wynona's "Burning Love", and Hawaiian songs created for the film. I love listening to it while I commute to work -- always lifts my spirits. "Wanna listen to the King? You look like an Elvis fan" (Lilo to Stitch).

Hello, I am a music lover from Kailua, Hawaii and I just wanted to say that I thought this soundtrack and movie is great. I also like how it promotes the islands in such a positive way. The Kamehameha School's Children's Chorus is a choir I am closely attached with. I have been going to Kamehameha School's for about 8 years now and I was in that choir my 4th and 6th grade years. My 6th grade year, we went to Walt Disney World and sang at Epcot Center, and then Universal Studios Florida and sang there as well so music is a part of my life. Well, have an awesome time listening to this CD because I have.
Aloha from Hawai'i!

I must say I didn't care much for Elvis and I didn't know much about him. This record made me look at elvis and his music is great. It's filled with energy and motion, I keep on singing in my head Devil in disguise whenever I'm running or jogging. ANd the Hawaiian songs are the best plus ever. It is a really enjoyable CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great movie, great soundtrack, July 2, 2002
By
Patrick Prevenas (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lilo & Stitch (Audio CD)
I LOVED THIS MOVIE. It turned out to be one of the most wildly emotional movies I have ever seen; outrageously hilarious and devastatingly heartbreaking all at once. This is a difficult enough combo to come by in most narrative stories, but in movies, the music is often a key factor in helping to achieve that effect. It's really amazing how wonderfully this eclectic collection of musical numbers captures the spirit of "Lilo & Stitch." They're all upbeat, quirky, and fun (though all in their own different ways), and I think that's what does the trick; they seem to have been chosen so that the lyrics of each one very nicely reflect the themes of the movie and the characteristics of Stitch himself (particularly the Elvis songs). Wynonna's "Burning Love" cover has a lot of fun and energy invested in it, and is easy to listen to over and over again. My personal faves are the Hawaiian-themed songs. "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" is an upbeat, happy number that serves as a great intro to the movie, while "He Mele No Lilo" is much more melodic, beautiful, and soaring piece that brings the film to a very emotionally satisfying end. My only complaint about this rather short 40-minute soundtrack (and the reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that there was SO much room left to include more than just three pieces of Alan Silvestri's wonderful score, yet that's all we've been given. I can only assume that Disney will be releasing a score-only soundtrack in the future, but this will be enough to tide me over for now because the songs are so entertaining. I mainly bought it for "He Mele No Lilo," anyway. This soundtrack probably wouldn't have much going for it on its own, but once you've seen the movie and have the visuals and emotions of it to mentally attach to the music, you'll love this soundtrack tremendously!
