About the Author

Mark Crutcher is the founder and president of Life Dynamics Incorporated. He has been a leader in the pro-life movement for many years. In 1987, Mark developed the Life Activist Seminar. In teaching this seminar across the country, he personally trained more than 15,000 prolife activists. Mark has spoken before numerous right to life groups, prolife events, and he is frequently asked to appear on TV and radio programs to comment on the pro-life, pro-choice debate or to defend the right to life position.

Life Dynamics was launched by Mark in 1991, and has since become an innovative leader in the pro-life movement with its unique Abortion Malpractice Program, a prolife Direct Mail Program and breakthrough prolife undercover investigations into the abortion industry.

Mark is also the author of Lime 5, a shocking exposé of legal abortion in America, and the pro-life strategy manual, Access: the key to pro-life victory. He has also written prolife articles for Focus on the Family's Citizen magazine, The Christian American, All About Issues, and many other pro-life publications. Mark is currently the co-host of America's only pro-life television talk show, LifeTalk.

Crutcher makes no bones about his politics on abortion: he wants it stopped, entirely. After reading this book, the reader will have a difficult time disagreeing. His descriptions of events are often taken verbatim from hospital records, court documents, and autopsy reports. They are not for the squeamish, and bring home a reality that numbers never could. A mother describes sitting at the bedside of her dying 13-year-old daughter: "I had to keep my hand pressed over my mouth to keep from screaming in horror." A respected abortion doctor reflects on his fellows: "Following good standards costs money. And people don't want to do that." An abortion clinic nurse describes her work environment: "The real philosophy is, each woman is worth X amount of money and the more women we can see, the more money we can make." Crutcher throws down the gauntlet, challenging those who defend legalized abortion to clean up their act. Yet he argues that ultimately such efforts will fail because abortion inherently contaminates everyone and everything it touches. The first rule of battle is to know your enemy, and Crutcher left no stone unturned. Lime 5 is painstakingly documented, and his sources are unimpeachable. Whether you agree or disagree with his conclusions, he presents a picture of abortion that every American should contemplate. Lime 5 is a must read for everyone.

The information found in this book is hard to find elsewhere, but it is well documented. He doesn't make it up. People need to know the risks, especially since the abortion industry is unregulated in comparison to other medical procedures, thanks to politics.
I found the information in Lime 5 shocking and depressing. Women fought for the right to abort, and now that same obsession with that right has led to an unregulated industry with serious health consequences.
Crutcher outlines these risks in this book extremely well, from the risk of death, sterility, breast cancer, even rape and sexual assault. It isn't a book to be read for pleasure, but it is necessary to be well informed. It is a must read on the issue of abortion.

Very little documentation here? An earlier reviewer commented that "Most of the "so-called" documentation consists of old newspaper accounts, and some are as old as 25 years." Obviously, they didn't read the book; I just counted a page of citations, and at least 75% come from medical journals or court records. "X-files"? Crutcher presents all the facts that he found to come with his conclusion. Sure, it's easy to brush off any idea of CDC bias, but when over 50% of the CDC employees there have ties to the abortion industry, how can you call that conclusion an "X-files conspiracy theory?" I picked this book up by mistake one day at the library. I have a fairly common name and apparently someone with the same name had asked for this book to be reserved for them. I was in a rush the day I went to pick up a book they were holding for me, and didn't notice I was given the wrong title. It was a holiday weekend and our library was closed, so by the time I realized my mistake, it was too late to take it back and get my book. When I saw that Lime 5 was about abortion, I decided to read a little of it. Being a woman, and pretty much a feminist, I figured this was just more dribble written by a man who would never be faced with making a decision about ending a pregnancy. By the time I finished the first chapter, I was in shock. By the time I finished the book, I was determined to check much more closely into a woman's issue that I had really just taken for granted. I checked out some of the sources, only a few considering there are over 1000 cites for the book, and they were all accurate. All I can say now is that I had no idea that this kind of tragedy still happened in the United States where we tout, "safe, legal abortion found here."

My friend got this book for a speech she had to give on abortion and I read it. Conspiracy theory? X-Files? Sensationalist? I don't think so. I've done some work with the pro-life movement and I've heard enough personal testimonies to know that the atrocities in Lime 5 are not as isolated as the pro-chioce movement would claim. An excellent source for anyone who wants to know more about the abortion industry.

This book will make an impact on you. You will either love it or hate it. Those who hate it, tend to scream about the lack of solid evidence, but the fact is that the evidence is sufficient to point to Crusher's conclusions. The conspiracy I am sure is not organized. Rather, it is clear by this book that facts are being hidden, by a government which has neglected to adequately protect patients. The conspiracy is simply embarrassment. The abortion industry is, and has been an embarrassment to healthcare professionals for years, and the evidence in this book points to reasons why. This book is a unique perspective of the abortion issue. Women's health is a matter of concern, and it is clear, that some of the most incompetent health professionals work in this field.
