4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! February 11, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The case came 5 days early, exceptional for coming from Hong Kong!
It's an exceptional case as well. I was worried that it may be matte, as that's one of the common complaints about replacement 3rd party shells. However it is pleasantly glossy, and it looks very similar to an official Nintendo shell. The only differences I found on a first inspection was that the Disclaimer/Instructions/Voltage information on the back was off-center, and overlapped a tiny bit with the battery cover, and that the small see-through circle was off-center underneath the indent for the serial code.

The case came with a slip of paper referencing it to instructions at the manufacturer's website at [...]. I compared two or three guides before I started to make sure I had the basic idea and to double-check which ones were good instructions. After finishing and re-reading the guide on their website it's got very good step-by-step instruction of how to take apart your old case and put the internals in the new one.

Pros:
1. A nice glossy finish!
2. Strong, cheap, quality case. Exceptional for the cost.
3. Came with all replacement buttons, screws, springs, rods, stylus, and the metal gameboy slip. Comes with do-it-yourself cut-out foam pads with adhesive on one side. For the small pads on the top by the edges, and for covering the screw holds.
4. Tri-wing screwdriver for those original cases and the tri-wing screws on the outside cover of the case.
5. Comes with replacement screws for using only philip's head screwdriver in any future changes(as mentioned in the other review).
6. Very nice instructions on the website provided.
7. Easy to switch cases, the only problems I had were my own inexperience, and these weren't detrimental.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent December 21, 2010

Ordered 2 of these from ValueDeluxe so that I'd get the triwing driver. I used the youtube video How to replace a NDSL case at [...]. It helped a lot to see it being done though it took me a lot longer than that guy. There are also instruction available from the manufacturer's that made the case at [...] housing.
Everything was included with the case except for the rubber pads that mount under the controller buttons. It makes sense that these aren't included though since they are more a part of the electronics than the case so you will have to reuse the ones from your DS. The clear insert for the power LED's was included which some replacement cases don't have. Also included were the matching color dummy gba insert and stylus. All the replacement screws were there and they were all thankfully Phillips instead of Triwing. So if I ever want to change the case again I won't have to deal with the triwing screws anymore. I didn't strip any of the screws as I tightened them into the new case which leads me to believe the plastic is pretty good. Everything fit together well with no part too big or too small. My kids wanted the same Apple Green case so I can say that the consistency between the two cases was good telling me the manufacturing process is in control. The hinge piece was excellent which is probably the number one reason people replace their case. Most importantly was that all the electronics fit back in perfectly without having to alter anything on the case. Most notably the microphone, speakers and screens fit right back perfectly. And all the guides for the wires were also in tact. Those of you actually replacing your case will find out what I mean by this.
Bottom line is that my kids love the new cases and they are holding up well after a week of use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Was a good case! April 15, 2014

The case itself came in perfect condition! No scratches no nothing, very nicely packed.

Issues:
-This plastic screen thing in the package came with scratches all over though. But since I wasn't going to use it, wasn't a big deal~
-The Squishy things (the 4 things on the upper ds surrounding the screen) weren't very useful. #1 the adhesive came off half of them, so they'd just fall off unless you used your own glue. #2 the ones the adhesive stay on....were rather thin, when you pushed them in you could see the outline of the screw. But I just reused the ones on the DS case I was replacing so no big deal.

-The ribbon cable part of the whole setup sucked! It sucked a lot.....even though I was originally successful. (spent more time then I should've to make sure not to kinckle the ribbon) As soon as I got to the stage of putting the triggers on and closing the ds all my efforts went to ruin. It's no fault of the case, just a warning, that if you don't have experience with and evennnn if you're really paying attention to a really good tutorial on youtube and beware the ribbon cable part of the setup. They make it look so easy, but it's not. OTL

3.0 out of 5 stars replacement shell for nintendo ds lite October 29, 2011

Lime Green - Nintendo DS Lite Complete Full Housing Shell Case Replacement Repair w/ Hinge SetThis is a great color but it was a lot harder to replace than I thought. I ended up having to get a professional to do it and it negated the cost effectiveness. I didn't know it at the time but I could have gotten a new nintendo light in green for about what it cost me to get the case redone by a pro. Oh, well.
