.....This cd is definitely one of the best if not THE BEST collections of music from Sonic's glory days. If I was aware of this cd when it was being sold on the market I would have purchased it in a heartbeat. This music is definitely one for the ages, and is definitely the hallmark of Sonic's peak in his career of stardom in my opinion. I look forward to the day this type of music accompanies another collection of Sonic music.

As I mentioned in my review for Shadow The Hedgehog I have been a fan of Sonic since the beginning. Sonic CD was and still is my favorite out of the series, (with Shadow in close second). I liked Sonic CD not just for the game itself but also for the music which at the time was pretty advanced, this was the first time I had ever heard actual vocal tracks in a video game. It's just too bad this cd with that awsome music is now out of print. If not I would try to buy a copy of it in a heart beat. Sonic Spinball on the other hand was probably the only Sonic game I didn't like. Might be due to the fact that I'm not really all that much into pinball, I also kind of stunk at Sonic Spinball. Well at least I'v played it. Here's to fond high speed memories. *sniff* (Update 3/29/08) Judging by the track list in the only other review for this cd, it sounds like it's a pretty good album. The only problem is that it doesn't contain all of the tracks from either game. But, then again, it's already pushing 70 minutes (just over an hour). I suppose if it did contain all the tracks it would be about two hours long, to long for a cd that's aimed at children. I also wanted to point out that I'm not terribly fond of Sonic R either. (Update 8/3/09) I suppose I should change the title of this review since, as it turns out, Sonic Boom is not really gone just somewhat hard to come by. Anyway I finally got my copy and it-is-AWSOME!! Usually each track as they appear in the game is only about 1:30. Hearing them in their 2-3 and a half minute entirety is truly exhilerating. Some of the tracks however, namely certain future tracks, are two or three tracks squished into one and some have new sound additions that I've never heard before which, in a way, makes this a whole new experience for me. I noticed also however that three tracks seem to be missing here: Collision Chaos- Good Future and Metallic Madness- Present and Good Future. Infact, at some points it almost seems like Spencer Nilson kind of rushed through this project. Just in case anyone was wondering the music for the zones pasts are digital recordings that cannot be played on a CD hense their absense from this album. The past music can only be heard in the game, sorry. Bottom line-I could live without the Sonic Spinball music but all-in-all this is a pretty good album and a great piece of nostalgia. I recommend it to any hard core Sonic or video game fan.
