Product was as described and at a great price. Instructions for setup were included along with telephone number for customer service. Background cloths were on rolls, not folded. Lights were as described. They heated up and smelled a bit, but that quickly went away. It all folds up neatly and has pockets on the front for storage. I store the lights there. Still more room for additional storage. Fits nicely in my closet. Would recommend this product.

I bought this for my wife, so she can photograph the jewelry that she makes.

When I looked at this, I knew the quality would be questionable (I am a photographer of 30+ years) - but my wife wanted something simple and easy to use. So I read a few of the reviews here on AMAZON and since it had a fair number of 5 star reviews I figured it would be good enough.

The should box is very nice and it has a nice case for it. The backgrounds are fine, nothing to really comment on either way. The lights are poor quality. They are not strong enough, they have a pattern of light that creates hot spots, they do not raise high enough to give a nice even pattern of light. The lights are very cheaply made and I expect to break fairly easy. The tripod for the camera is a really bad attempt at being usable - to weak to use with a Sony A3000 camera. Very poorly fitted and cheap materials. The Cell-phone holder does not screw into the tripod - the screw sizes are different.

The reality is kit is poorly made. Sure it's useable - but is it worth $57? No. Any hardware has the "dollar store" CHINA quality to it. I would advise not to buy this. Spend more on a kit here or make one yourself from parts from the local HomeDepot/Walmart/etc.

UPDATE: I reordered the G-Star Photography 30 Inch Studio Photo Light Tent Lighting Box w/ 3 Backdrops as a replacement, it arrived yesterday. VERY, VERY NICE (it's much larger) but you will need to buy lights or make due with lights you have already at home. I should have ordered this in the first place.

The tent itself is good, has a good size, is easy to assempble, and the backgrounds are great. The lighting is extremely weak and the lamps are poorly designed, creating shadows. I will need to purchase additional lights to make it work.

This is a great background for my eBay pictures. The downside, like others have said, even though the lights seem bright, they don't cut through the sides of the cube very well. I shone the lights directly on the objects which created shadows, but they turned out pretty well anyway. Setting up the cube is a bit tricky, even with the instructions. I think it will just take some time to get used to.

I use this to photograph small items (clocks & watches). After reading the reviews i decided to get the GU10 LED bulbs as replacements for the included lights. I'm glad i did. The lights are much brighter and whiter and they produce virtually no heat. I had to modify the bulb cover ring to fit the new bulbs (turned them on a lathe and widened the inner diameter). You could probably just leave the trim ring off. Easy set-up and very portable if you need that. They should offer the LED lights and then it would be a 5 star rating.

THIS WAS USELESS, UNEVEN LIGHTING, POOR CONSTRUCTION. i plan to return it. Go with a higher end unit that delivers better lighting quality.

Background colors were not wide enough, leaving a black seam at the back. Yes I tried fiddling with it to make them work, to no avail. Lights are next to worthless. They smell like melting plastic after 10 minutes of use (there is even a warning label in the lights warning you that you may notice a smell after an hour). They aren't close to bright enough. The threads sticking out of the top of the tripod were not long enough to screw into the cell phone holder. I understand this is an economy kit, but not even one of the parts worked right. Limostudio: go back to your Chinese contact and choose the more expensive options. You're trashing your brand.

Ok. In defense of LimoStudio's use of an acrylic manufacturer that uses a paper protection liner there is really nothing they can do about changing their product as this is standard practice in the sheeted plastics industry. Acrylic manufacturers use a paper protection liner to protect the product in shipping. These manufacturers ship 4'x8' sheets of the acrylic plastic in 250-500 sheet count pallets. Without the paper protection liner there is a high probability that the sheet would get scratched in the manufacturing process or in the shipping process due to friction between the sheets while they are stacked on the pallet. LimoStudio gets the sheets this way and CNC routes the sheet to the size you get in this kit.

With that said here is the "secret" to removing the paper liner in one piece. To start, get a starter edge going by peeling up a 1/4" by 1" wide piece of the paper at one of the corners. Second, grab your favorite hair dryer and gently warm the surface of the paper by quickly moving the hair dryer (try the low setting first) over the entire surface of the paper to warm up the glue on (underneath) the paper. Warming the paper will take a minute or so. Don't get the paper hot or you will stand the chance of damaging the plastic. Third, start at the corner where you got your starter edge going and peel the paper back towards the center of the piece and work this edge from the outside edges (corners to center) of the piece towards the center of the piece. When the paper is warm (and hence the glue on its backing) you can definitely feel the ease in which the paper can be pulled off. If the paper wants to tear or you feel a change in the force required to peel the paper, warm that area up again with the hair dryer. By working from the outside towards the center, the paper will come off in 1 piece every time.

By following this method, I was able to remove all 4 sides of the paper in 1 piece with a couple of small 1/4" tears. Heat is your friend in this case and with a little practice, you will have no problems in duplicating my success.

It does it's intended job, but the surface scratches EASILY. Even slightly moving a piece of glass a quarter of an inch left a noticable mark. Not a bad item to pick up, but just be extremely careful when positioning your items.
