A Wonderful Journal for Healthcare Profesionals,
This review is from: Linacre Quarterly (Magazine)
The Linacre Quarterly is published by the Catholic Medical Association, and for me has provided a good balance to the National Catholic Bioethics Quarterly (NCBQ), my other Catholic journal on biomedical issues. While both are quarterlies, the Linacre Quarterly has articles that are generally a little shorter and are also on a broader range of topics, with a greater focus on the interests of practicing healthcare professionals, in contrast to the NCBQ's more academic focus.
Past articles that have made a large impression on me include the decreasing percentage of practicing physicians involved in bioethics, professionalism and the pro-life movement, and an article in the most recent issue on a large advertising campaign for NFP awareness in the Diocese of Wichita and the insights that were taken from the program. The shorter formats do not sabotage the quality of the articles--everything is well-documented. In fact, combined with the broader range of topics covered, the Linacre Quarterly is well-adapted for the busy schedules of healthcare professionals who wish to learn more about the Catholic perspective on medicine, ethics, and the human person.
