I bought this kit after watching some positive YouTube reviews about it. It is now clear that YouTube reviews are not to be trusted. The only way you can give these lights a positive rating is if you've never worked with real professional video production lights (Lowel, Arri, etc.). Yes, these are cheaper, but the actual "value" is what I question. First off - terrible for on-location setup. Very slow to set up. I can put my Lowel Rifa light w. softbox up in about 2 minutes. With these, you are looking at substantially more time (15+ minutes per light). You have to put the softboxes on the fixtures first, then put the lamps in. That means that every time you want to put them up or take them down, you have to deal with the lamps (12 of them) separately. This also means that the carrying case the kit comes with is not sufficient to hold the light fixtures AND the lamps, so plan on buying at least one more bag. They are definitely way to fragile to store with the lamps in the fixtures, and the carrying case is insufficiently padded to protect that configuration. As you'd expect with budget stuff, the build quality is pretty flimsy, aside from the light stands, which are surprisingly decent.
Another important point - these are really lights for "portrait" style shots, where you have one person, framed at a medium shot or closer. They don't put out enough light to use for wider shots without being in the frame. If you're looking to set up a portrait style studio in your garage, and not do a lot of setup-up or takedown of the lights, then these might be right for you. If you're shooting dramatic content, or doing lots of run-and-gun on location shooting, these are definitely NOT for you.

Really liking this entire set up! It is affordable, so you know there are some set backs, but the positives very much out weight the negative.

First off, shipping was SUPER fast. I placed my order on a Friday and received everything on the following Tuesday. Packaged very well and everything was intact and works just fine. I honestly was blown away with the quality of these lights when i set everything up. Even the carrying bags are nice. As the other reviewer said, there isn't enough space to store and move all of the bulbs safely, so an additional back or case will be needed for the bulbs if you are trying to stay mobile.

Stands:The light stands are SOLID. Nothing you would expect when shopping around for "cheap" lights. Very sturdy and secure great in their bag. They have a locking system on them that makes them silent and travel well. The base of the stands can be extended wide and makes them very sturdy when in use. The top of the stands has a thread which opens them up to a lot more use than just light stands.

Light Bank: The light bank is of high quality as well. They are made out of heat resistant ceramic that is also very solid. The handle on the back hardly gets any use, but I'm glad Linco listened to customers and made a very slight, but extremely important adjustment. The handle on the back has a soft cushion that apparently used to slide off once you touched it. You can imagine this leading to a lot of accidents. I planned on just removing it and using gaf tape, but i actually could not remove it. Some simple glue fixed a very obvious problem. Thanks Linco ;-)

Soft Boxes: LOVE THESE! They pop up like and umbrella and fold away just as easy. I can see how over time, if not treated correctly, these might not withstand harsh punishment.

I've used these lights for around three years now and find them to be quite adequate. A lot of my work is shooting individuals and small groups. They throw plenty of nice, even light and cover a 10 foot wide very nicely. I have a 3 light set, and unlike another reviewer, can easily have all three ready to go in 10 to 15 minutes. When I bought them, I also sprung for the bags that are made to protect the bulbs. These lights replace my old quartz tungsten lights that had a bad habit of blowing circuit breakers. That has never been an issue, even when I have to plug all 3 heads kinto one circuit. While they are not full on professional lights, you can produce very professional looking results with them.
