Editorial Reviews

Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln Continental sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of a lifetime: defending a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.

I really like this soundtrack, it has some old school tracks as well as the rave music. My favorite song on here is 9 minutes long, entitled "I remember". its the ultimate Rave song and the beat is great. I can see myself doing Zumba to this song. lol..

I've never been Matthew McConaughey's fan, all that shirtless business... But this movie was to my liking and MM managed to stay dressed inside the court room and out. Overall quite enjoyable thriller and I was pleasantly surprised with a very good soundtrack. Closing credits song (California Soul) is my favorite! It was fun, just the right amount of music for a movie and I am planning to buy most of the songs. Unfortunately, not from amazon, as they want us to buy the entire album. Hopefully, they'll be more flexible in the future.
Check out The Lincoln Lawyer!

Though there is no one completely in charge of the music for THE LINCOLN LAWYER this assortment of themes and music more than serves to highlight the tension and the underlying parodies. Cliff Martinez offers the original music for the score, never in the way, never calling attention to itself, but keeping the movie running smoothly and with adequate tension/relief. To remind the listener of the story the following is offered:

THE LINCOLN LAWYER is a classy, well-written (adapted from Michael Connelly's novel by John Romano), well-directed (Brad Furman) drama that benefits from the presence of a well chosen, first class cast. This is one of the stronger movies of the year, the kind of film that reminds us of the art of cinema.

Mike Haller (Matthew McConaughey in a brilliant performance) is a money hungry smarmy defense lawyer whose brilliant mind is bent toward representing sleazy types who pay well. He works out of his Lincoln automobile driven by his trusted ally Earl (Laurence Mason), lives in a dumpy apartment, works with a shoddy appearing detective Frank (William H Macy), and spars with the beautiful fellow lawyer Maggie McPherson (Marisa Tomei) with whom he has a daughter and an on again off again relationship. One of his fellow workers Val Valenzuela (John Leguizamo) tips Mike on a case of wealthy realtor Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe) who is accused of beating a prostitute: the case smells of lots of money so Mike of course takes it on - along with Louis, wealthy mother Mary Windsor (Frances Fisher) and the family lawyer Cecil Dobbs (Bob Gunton).

One of those movies I like to watch over and over. Even have the book to the sequel and enjoying it very much. As I read it, I can see Matthew McCanney acting his part and hear his reactions. He really made this movie

I enjoyed the movie and had high hopes for the soundtrack. The songs sound flat and without character with the exception of one or two songs. Save your money.
