Lindburg used Testors S4 mold for this model. Except for the packaging THEY ARE IDENTICAL (the Lindburg model even still carries the Testors mold stamp). The price however is not. Bidders on EBAY are paying upwards of $40.00 (not including S&H) for the out of production Testors S4. I purchased the Lindburg model, brand new on Amazon for around $20.00 (this included S&H). Unless you just have to have the Testors box this is a much better bargain!

This is about 13 inches round and is plastic. Its all clear with some frosted sections. Its nothing to build really. Great for a beginner and you dont need much glue. You can put some led lights inside like i did to make a cool lamp. See my you tube video here >>

Great model. HUGE! Easy to build and comes with 1 soldier and 2 aliens. The top and bottom main pieces are clear so you can see the interior that you need to build, which is a control room a couple of chairs and the generators on the lower level. That's pretty much it. There is a couple of decals the come with the model. I recommend painting it GLOSS GREY with a GLOSS BLACK band. The black windows are decals. Before you put the decals on it, give the model a few coats of CLEAR GLOSS to help the decals slide on better. After the decals are on and dry, give it another 2 coats of CLEAR GLOSS You want this model to be very shiny. Don't use silver. You will never find the right silver and the decals will not stick right to the silver. I tried! GLOSS GREY looks fantastic!

Great UFO Flying Disk model. This is a duplicate of the original Testors model. It is even molded buy the same mold because there is a Testors logo on one of the pieces as well. This is a fun model to build, its easy, but its great practice for learning how to model paint. I also have the Original Testors model wrapped in the original plastic, which is awesome. This is a nice replacement for the Testors model, but it still does not compare. Looks cool if painted and assembled correctly. A must have for any UFO enthusiast!!

Who says a 50s something guy can't have his toys? It was true to its advertising and fun to assemble, as stated by other members it was larger than expected ,a pleasant surprise. You still have to make your own mind up believing Lazar! The only disappointment was that after assembly viewing the tiny aliens inside the craft was difficult. This was the case even though I decided to only paint the back half for effect. The view is considerably obstructed by the upper shell. I would have not glued it down permanently but keep it removable for viewing the inside more easily. Great purchase for the spacecraft affectionardo.

I am sorry if this seems over zealously radical of me, but as soon as I took the craft out of the box I noticed the saucer was completely warped. Not only didn't it fit to the proportions of the design specifications, but when I finally had it together, it looked like the edges were maintained with glue instead of a seamless conjunction.

Usually when I put together a model I like it to have the illusion that it's a replica of whatever it is in "real" life...Or within the realism of what the developers or in this case eyewitness originally intended. This didn't happen for me with this piece but maybe it will with you.

Lindberg usually makes excellent models and I just finished an LST model from this company which I completed for my Veteran Father-in-law, so perhaps I just bought a lemon this time around.

I bought the same model kit in 2012 or so, but it got destroyed in a move, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it on amazon and have the chance to own it once again. The shipping was smooth, and arrived with only minor dings on the box. Inside the contents were sealed, and only one piece had found its way off the sprue.

This kit is based on descriptions from a (confirmed) nutjob named Bob Lazar, who supposedly worked at area 51 on the real deal. That's neither here nor there, what is presented here is a classic flying saucer design, complete with classic alien crew, and a tiny military guard (who is, for one reason or another, unarmed). On my kit, I scratch built an exam table to lay the guard on for an alien encounter.

The difficulty for this kit is listed as 2, but an amateur modeler shouldn't have much trouble with it. There are only 25 or so pieces in the entire kit, and most painting is minimal, save for the tiny figures, which were the most labor intensive work on the whole kit. The clear top piece is painted from the inside, and with masking, provides almost no challenge. The clear bottom piece, I elected to paint entirely, so as to hide the minimally detailed lower interior. Assembly was as easy as a model kit comes.

The area 51 s4 "sport model" kit has a lot of free space for customization, and on the top part of the clear piece on mine, I left the center transparent, and rigged up some LED lights to really show off the interior, which I added some scratch built details to. I elected to add an exam table, some computers/monitors, and a "lounge" area with a table and some chairs. With some styrene sheets, and a little patience and imagination, it was pretty easy to really make this kit my own.
