The photo on this item is very misleading. The only thing that would make this skull "Pirate" would, perhaps, be the bad teeth. However, crooked teeth are not exclusive to pirates, therefore, there is truly nothing uniquely piratey about this skull. Also, this is a MODEL which needs to be glued together. Maybe it was my bad, but I didn't catch that in the description (granted I was overly excited to find a "pirate" skull.... :/ ... or so I thought...). The bandana pictured is not included with the skull MODEL and the skull itself is about the brightest white I have ever seen. Again, not exactly piratey... Now on to the 1/1 scale...okay, I will give them that IF (and this is a BIG IF) the pirate we are speaking of was of the pigmy dwarf munchkin variety. Maybe he was a fairy pirate...I don't know, but this skull is rather the size of a very, very small child. I'm not sure how well this model will actually glue together...tried to place the pieces and it didn't look very promising. Overall, not at all what I expected and I'm very disappointed in this product and the fact that because it shipped so late, my husband's anniversary present (a homemade replica of the Disney Pirate's of the Caribbean Talking Skull from the ride of the same name) will now have to be a Christmas present.

12/2011 Tried to glue the thing together before painting it and it is impossible. The skullcap has HUGE gaps and the teeth slots are so shallow that the teeth have nothing to bond to when trying to glue them in. Believe me, if I could return this horrible product, I would in a heartbeat! Please do not waste your money on this.

Per a haunters website, I purchased several of these models to be used as ground-breakers in my cemetery. They are lightweight and durable, able to modify the look of the teeth, jaw, and skull to create a gruesome look. Then using liquid latex and cotton, an excellent modification. They are to scale. I recommend to home haunters.
