This strainer is great looking and extremely durable. It is expensive but the quality of it is great. This strainer will fit over bowls, pots and if you have a double sink like I do you can hang it over the sink. I really like that. I made a strawberry mixture to put over cheesecake and biscuit shortcake using 2lbs of strawberries. The mixture accumulated a lot of juice after sitting for a while and I did not want all that juice so I put the entire 2lbs of cut up strawberries in this strainer and there was still room left. I was really impressed to see over a cup of juice come through this strainer before I pressed on the berries. I was able to stir the berries without any problem. It is rather deep so you have to use deep bowl or deep pot if you want to keep what ever you're straining. I am going to get the larger 10" size too. If you don't mind spending a few extra dollars, this is a great conical strainer for many uses that should last a very long time as long as you dry it thoroughly after washing. I would recommend this to any serious cook.

This strainer is sturdy and personally preferred because it is NOT mesh, making it easier to clean in my opinion. I wanted a cone shaped strainer without paying a fortune i could use atop pitchers and some of my mixing bowls. The only real complaint were the obnoxious stickers (two) stuck right on the outer side of the strainer that were not easy to peel. Had to soak strainer in hot water and scrape off sticker residue. Overall seems like it should last a very long time. Love stainless steel products too.
