Deserves Reprinting,
By Pat West (Madison, WI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lindsay Wagner's New Beauty: The Acupressure Facelift (Paperback)
I found this book several years ago at the public library. It delivers just what it promises, a useful method for improving circulation, health and thereby skin tone and color. Using this method provides a viable alternative to surgery. It's longer lasting, relaxing, non-invasive and cost-effective. A valuable book for anyone committed to self-responsible self-maintenance. Because it's out of print, I've borrowed this book again several times since. I've also looked for something simliar to purchase, but nothing comes close. Alas!

A wonderful method,
By Patricia Nolan Stein (Burbank, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lindsay Wagner's New Beauty: The Acupressure Facelift (Paperback)
I discovered "New Beauty: The Acupressure Facelift" about five months ago and have practiced Lindsay's acupressure methods nearly every day since. I have noticed great results! I love this book and wish it would be re-printed. She provides a wonderful alternative to surgical facelifts--something plastic surgeons certainly wouldn't like! Still, I think all women should be able to learn about the benefits of facial massaging and exercises and decide for themselves if this method is right for them. It IS right for me.

In this well-written and illustrated book, Lindsay Wagner and her collaborator present a 20-minute acupressure program that will make a positive difference in facial looks and health too, as acupressure points usually have more than one beneficial effect when stimulated. It's easy to do and takes no more energy than sitting upright and stimulating various facial and upper body acupressure points with your fingertips for one minute each! There are also valuable and interesting tips on a healthy lifestyle, majoring in the beneficial effects of a balanced vegetarian diet. This is information that is just as up-to-date today as it was when originally published, and should remain in print for the benefit of anyone who wants or needs to make use of it! I can testify that the facelift works just as well for men as women; I can also say that I have gifted an actress friend with this book, and within only a couple of weeks of practice, she emailed me that people around her had begun to tell her that she was looking ten years younger! There are still used copies of this book available--try it for yourself!

Great book!,
By Francisca (Switzerland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lindsay Wagner's New Beauty: The Acupressure Facelift (Paperback)
I bought this book while I was doing some research on facial exercise books. After having tried Eva Fraser's Facial Workout, which was not the book for me because I didn't quite manage to do many of the exercises, I was curious to try another approach. I have to confess that what attracted me to this book to start with was the very small price (they have become quite a bit more expensive for some reason!). But I was not disappointed, not in the least! I can't say that I see a lot of changes as I only started doing the exercises yesterday but I really enjoy the simplicity and the fact that they don't only seem to make you look younger but also work for the eye sight (that I knew because of the many books I read on bettering your eye sight naturally) and the sinuses, one of my other problems! I really feel relaxed and energized after doing the exercises; I just wish she would have thought of including a detachable page with small photos of each exercise and a short explanation so that one could take it everywhere. So far I still get a bit confused with the acupressure points and whether the circles are inwards, outwards.... One of my aqua gym books has that option of copying a page with small photos so that one can keep them near the pool, very handy indeed!Bear in mind that this is quite an old book so some of the advice is maybe not up to date. Stating that vegetarians have less health and weight problems I find a bit farfetched. Ok, she felt well being a vegetarian but it is not a lifestyle that suits everybody and many people who eat meat are very healthy and have a good weight! Eating a low fat diet is something that is being revised more and more as well as too much fiber. Working all morning only on fruit juices is not for everybody either but then she is talking about her own experience! Soy products.... very in, in the 80's, being questioned now! But, the most important part of this book are the exercises and so far I am thoroughly enjoying them. I would advise them to anybody who wants to look better but doesn't anything too complicated! And if there are other health benefits all the better because if you feel better you will look better too!

My chiropractor recommended this book to me as I have lost some weight several moths ago and was getting sagging skin as a result. I had asked my chriropactor for some suggestions and this book was the suggestion. The steps are simple and so far it does seem really be working. I would recommed trying it out.
