This expression pedal is designed for the Stomp Box Modelers and AX2. For the Stomp Box Modelers, the expression pedal allows you to morph smoothly between any two settings of a model. For the AX2, this pedal can be used for wah or volume. Includes 1/4 inch jack and 1/4 inch connecting cable. Can also be used with any other 1/4 inch cable for longer cable runs. Black plastic, with embossed Line 6 logo. Includes 1/4 inch connecting cable.

I purchased this for my Line 6 POD HD 500. I hesitated in buying this pedal because of the mixed reviews, but at less than 40% of the cost of a custom designed, all metal constructed pedal, I decided to give it a try (I am just a home guitar hobbyist). I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the pedal is VERY solid and well built. One reviewer said his EX-1 outlasted several PODs, and I believe it! It's plastic, but it's high grade quality plastic, and the feel of pedal in use is very stable. It doesn't feel like junk at all!

I may only use this pedal at home, but wouldn't hesitate to gig with it. It's relatively inexpensive compared to others, and seems like it could take a good beating. I highly recommend it.

My first Line 6 products were the Flextone II Plus amplifier and FloorBoard foot switch. There were only four things I felt the absence of from that set-up, phaser, stereo/ping-pong delay, pitch shifter and onboard, dedicated compressor. I resolved that I'd someday get another Line 6 unit that would include those features, and the POD XT Live was it. But, it was still incomplete with only one expression pedal to control volume, effects, amplitude, reverb, etc.

The EX-1 is so simple. If you don't alter the programming in the POD XT, the EX just functions as a volume pedal by default, leaving the onboard expression pedal to work as a wah wah pedal. But, I'm using the EX on several presets to control Leslie speed, synth waveform and filter cutoff. I hope to utilize its other capabilities down the line. Something I recommend to anybody with a POD XT/XT Live, or one of Line 6' foot pedal emulators.

This pedal shipped/arrived quickly and works really well. Line 6 makes a great product overall, so I had no worries about the EX-1. My husband used it for the first time at a gig this past Saturday, and he said it has just the right amount of tension to allow for great volume control (unlike pedals he's had in the past).
