It's a stamped piece of metal designed to prop up a Line 6 POD. I used it mounted on a standard mic stand for a while, then as room in the pit grew tighter, I wedged the horizontal part under my amp handle. It's worked great in both instances and was worth the cost to keep the display within easy eyesight.
