Distilled Model Collections
Plug into perfectly distilled collections of American and British amp tones, paired down to the very essentials. Spider IV 15 gives you access to a variety of tones that every guitarist wants. Shimmering clean tones, a classic crunch inspired by a 100-watt Marshall Plexi, punchy high-gain heaven inspired by a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier, and more. The Spider IV 15 also boasts Insane, one of their most popular amp models. Dialed in for shredding, Insane is lean, mean and loaded with distortion.

Spider IV 15 features 4 amp models: from clean jazz tones to the bone-crushing Insane.

Access to all the tones that every guitarist wants.

Fine-tune all your tones with the front-panel 3-band EQ that includes Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs. Carve out the middle, roll off the highs and lows, and sculpt till your tones are just right.

Need some grit? Grab the dedicated Drive knob to pile on as much distortion as you need. Give your clean tones a little bite. Make your dirty tones filthy. You can even roll back the Drive to clean up your crunchy tones for a classic mid-gain sound.

Balance the volumes of your presets quickly and easily with the Channel volume knob. Make sure your high-gain lead tones don't blow away your cleaned-up rhythm tones. Just set them and forget them.

Wise up to Smart FX
Smart FX knobs put award-winning Line 6 effects at your fingertips. Easy to use, Smart FX let you spend less time tweaking and more time playing. Easily add or remove any amount of lush reverb, exceptional echo, tangy mods, and more. The knobs are located on the amps front panel, so you can make all your adjustments on the fly. Add color and texture to your tone with the six Smart FX knobs on Spider IV 15: Chorus/Flange, Phaser, Tremolo, Sweep Echo, Tape Echo, and Reverb.

Add color and texture to your tone with the six Smart FX settings on the Spider IV 15.

Features a switch to change between cable and wireless systems

Sync time-based effects with Tap Tempo.

And with Tap Tempo, sync up your effects like a pro. With two pushes of the Tap Tempo button, all of your time-based effects will fall in line with military precision. The peaks of your Tremolo will match the feedback of your Sweep Echo, and so on.

Dialed-In Rock Star Tones and Presets
Create up to four custom-made presets for the music that you play. Save each one to a Channel memory and recall it instantly with the touch of a button. Connect an FBV Express MkII or FBV2 foot controller to recall or scroll your user presets remotely.

Spider IV 15 is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It can do something that many other amps can't and that's produce great tone--including scorching high-gain tones--at low volumes. And that makes it ideal for late-night jamming, small spaces, and any place where size, weight, and volume are a factor. To get the whole story of Spider IV amplifiers, you need to turn one around. All Spider IV combo amps feature a perfectly tuned three-quarter closed-back cabinet. This provides a tight, punchy, focused response that you can't get from an open-back cabinet.

You'll always sound your best with the built-in tuner. No need for an external tuner or additional guitar cables, this invaluable tool is integrated into the amps front panel. Simply activate the tuner with the push of a button.

PROS:this is the perfect practice amp!!!!!! i love it!! i got it for christmas, and i use it all the time! i love how it has clean, crunch, metal, and insane settings! (my favorite is metal) this amp allows you to play any style whether it is country, blues, alternative, rock, metal, or deathcore! i am rockin' out to nirvana, ozzy, three days grace, skillet, guns n' roses, metallica, and evanescence! the effects are great, and you will need them for some songs. also it comes with a tuner, and a place to plug in anything you need to plug in like a footpedal or an effect box. it also comes with something very handy. it has a place to plug in your ipod, mp3 player, or cd player. just buy an audio cable at radio shack for $8. the sound is phenomenal when you play your ipod. this means you can play along with your favorite songs from the same source! this will take practicing to a whole other level.
CONS: the booklet it comes with is absolutely no help WHATSOEVER. the tuner sucks. just buy a chromatic tuner for $15. when you are on clean, it automatically turns on the echo effect, even if its off. to turn it off, you have to manually turn the echo effects knob all the way and back to turn it off. this can be very annoying if you dont want the echo effect.
Overall, a fantastic amp. Recommended for anyone. Hope this review helps.

I use this compact modeling amp for guitar practice in my living room and am thinking about doing some recording with it. You will not believe the amazing sounds that can come out of this little box. The Clean amp model sounds as sweet as honey, and the Insane model kicks-out down-and-dirty, soul-satisfying distortion. There are two other amplifier models (Crunch and Metal) that pretty much cover the gamut of electric guitar amplification sounds. All six effects sound good, and this amp is light enough to haul around easily.

Read all the features this unit has. I can't believe the sound from this !!! Clean is very crisp. Crunch is classic rock Marshall tube sound, Metal is a cranked Laney &/or Peavey amp sound & Insane has that Mesa Boggie metal red tone for sure. All are adustable w/ tone & effects. each preset is nicely tunable with your pick up selector, volume & tone right at the guitar. It cranks too ! Gets nice & loud with very controlable tube like feedback. A must have ! The price is a steal & the case, speaker grill, knobs & buttons are very good quality. I give it raving reviews !

The Line 6 Spider IV "modeling guitar amplifier" [all wattages from 15 watts upward] series has gotten some excellent reviews in all sorts of places but here's the thing: It's =not= your basic plug in the juice, pop in the guitar patch cord, set the volume [or make with the headphones], and wail. This amp, the 15 watter, has all sorts of things it can do but, I say BUT, the manual in the English section of same that comes with the amp, consists of exactly '2' pages [!] in the multi-language "pilot's handbook" and the thinking [??] seems to be that the user is well familiar with the amp and what it can do and HOW it can be done but you're basically left to your own devices [or guesses] to figure it out! Read on!

My first bit of advice is to go to the Line 6 folks ONLINE website and READ the expanded info they have available on this amp AND you may wish to check out various forums of Line 6 Spider IV users which can answer many questions and save you much grief. Let me just give you one 'fer instance' -- on one forum dealing with this specific amp, a user, and apparently quite new to both guitars and amps, was ready to send the amp back believing it was defective! Why? He wrote, "I have no idea what ails this thing ... the CLEAN channel is 'not' clean ... I'm getting all sorts of reverb and echo in the sound yet I have both of the two effects knobs turned to the OFF position! I mean I pressed various buttons here and there [! -- remember that one!] but the next day, I turn on the amp and I can't get any 'clean' sound in the clean channel and I can 'hear' reverb and echo in there [the clean channel] but, as I say, I have the effects knobs both turned to off! What gives? This can't be normal!

Bought this amp to play along with a Squier Classic Vibe 50's strat. It has a broad range of settings and effects that can be used. I found the clean channel to be not so clean. Tried resetting the clean several times to get rid of the pre-programmed echo or chorus effect, but it still has a bit of distortion to it. The crunch, metal, and insane channels all have their uses, but I found myself constantly playing to get to the sound quality I wanted regardless of channel or type of sound I was shooting for. I accessed some on-line help to try to work in the sounds, but it still takes more time to dial in the sound than I want to spend (more time messing with settings = less time playing).

Overall, the sound quality was OK for a practice amp

I'm sure that some people would be able to work this amp well for the type of music they are playing, but it just wasn't for me.
