I have many amps including EVH and Marshall's and this amp is equal in all areas. It is 100 watt all tube so it is loud. Do not get this for a bedroom or you will be blowing out your windows on volume 2. This head sounds best through a good quality 4X12 cab. The huge array of effects, Bogner tube design and software programability make this one a winner!

I've been playing guitar for over 20 years & I know a thing or two about guitar tone. My friend owns the Spider Valve MKII 40 watt combo and he let me try it out at his house. I was blown away!!! My prior experience with Line 6 was the original Vetta amp that my other friend uses. That amp is solid state which I'm not a big fan of. Amp simulators, in my opinion, are like a tub of margarine. Sorry but it's not like real butter. The richness, texture and creaminess are all missed with solid state amp tone, at least at normal full band jam volume levels! So needless to say when I plugged the Spider Valve MKII, I could not believe the tone. Now, the amp is not perfect, but it's the closest thing I've witnessed. Being a full tube amp, you get all the tube tone, only with a hint of the solid state tone from the on board effects processor. And with all this amp does, I can live with that! I quit using my Mesa Duel and also my JMP head since I purchased the 100 watt version head. Beautiful cleans, Thundering Gains, Blues Twang and all points in between. It pretty much eliminated my effects pedal board as well. Well all except for the Deja Vibe... There's no replacing that pedal! All in all, I'm a huge fan of the amp and I can't believe that Line 6 won me over. BUT THEY DID!!! THANX

I have used Line 6 modeling products for years and have always loved them. Then after years of other musicians coming up to rave about how great my amp sounds only to start complaining once they learned I ran solid state, I broke down and bought this to be my tube amp. It definitely adds some warmth to my sound as any tube amp should, and the built in sounds are great. In general the documentation is good but is missing more advance information such as MIDI setup and such.

I'm now into my fourth month of using this amp in performances almost every weekend, and I have had no issues so far. Other than the slight adjustments I have to make at each venue, my overall sound is consistent and crisp. Definitely recommend this as a mid to pro level amp. Unless you're planning to spend a few grand on a much more expensive amp, and are making enough money performing to justify it, I can't see why you wouldn't pick this amp as the go to amp.

I've been playing guitar since 1992 and I've owned EVERY type of amp....1969 Marshall Plexi into a 1970's GREENBACK 4x12, Every type of Fender combo and head, TONS of diff. old PEAVEY heads from the 1970's (which are AMAZING), Randalls (the one's Dime used on the 1st bunch of albums)....EVERYTHING, ok? What was my problem with all of them? I NEEDED A TON OF PEDALS TO GET A BUNCH OF DIFF. TONES!!

Now, for most of you, you think "So what, just hook up the pedals and play"....PROBLEM? I'm paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair. Now, I can play my fu*kin' ass off, ripping thru early Van Halen and rocking some old AC/DC....BUT I CANNOT USE MY FEET TO HIT A PEDAL. So, to get a diff. tone I had to have my bass player control all my pedals, it sucked....UNTIL.....

So I see this cool looking amp by Line 6, it's all lit up and has a liitle computer screen on it, so I start playing with it, I'm flipping ONE switch and changing the entire tone of the amp into diff. settings that are build in by a ton of amazing guitarists, like Steve Via, Malmsteen, Eric Johnson!!!! Then there is a massive SH*T-TON of settings to make your guitar tone sound like ANY tone you've EVER heard!!!! Listen, I do NOT work for Line 6, but I'd like to!! What this amp does is take EVERY type of amp head, pedal, cabinet (2x12 + 4x12 including that sweet as* GREENBACK tone from Van Halen I) and puts them at your finger tips. I opened my case, grabbed my favorite 1982 Guild Nova electric and plugged in....the amp was set to the "Wish You Were Here SOLO tone" it fuc*in' BLEW MY MIND!!!!
