5.0 out of 5 stars For patient players, but well worth it., October 5, 2006

This review is from: Lineage II: The Epic Collection (CD-ROM)
Lineage II is a beautiful and engrossing game. It's been vastly under rated in the media, but is in fact one of the most popular online games in the world, ranking only 2nd to World of Warcraft. Lineage II's community is a bit more grown up and extremely loyal and friendly.

What drew me to the game was the wonderful art style and the more I explored the better the environment and character graphics became. Gameplay is very solid, though at a slower pace compared to other games in this genre, but it's hopelessly addictive.

This epic collection is not only cheaper than the original Lineage II, but comes with all of the expansion packs that normally must be downloaded, plus 45 days of free play. Also, expansions come about twice a year, changing the look and feel of the game and are entirely free.

If you like your MMORPGs with huge, unbounded worlds (No invisible walls or load times), appealing asian-style design and solid, well-aged gameplay, I highly reccomend this game.

This game is one of the best mmrpg right now, with great graphics, nice sounds and beautiful views.
you cant even try to compare lineage2 with wow, just lets say that wow is for kids.
Lineage II quite literally puts the "multiplayer" back into the MMO genre. The title is built around universal player-versus-player combat that culminates in the major gameplay dynamic of seizing and holding one of the castles that dot the land. Is this a good or bad thing? It depends on your perspective. Players who are looking to just run around, do quests, kill monsters, and go on adventures by themselves or with a small group of friends are going to be dramatically disappointed. Put simply, it's almost impossible to go solo past the first few levels of the game, and the higher you go, the more people you need to be allied with in order to get anything out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not for wussy warcraft players!, October 17, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Lineage II: The Epic Collection (CD-ROM)
Warcraft's too easy! But Lineage2 offers challenge. Anyone can kill brainless monsters, but how do you stack up when it comes to defeating thinking opponents?

Use your personal charisma to pursuade people to join your clan (a "blood pledge"). Politics and diplomacy determine who will be friend and who will be foe. Lay seige to Castles in mass player-vs-player combat, for the leader that claims the throne gets to levy taxes against other players hunting in that territory. Then prepare to defend your prize against all contenders every 2 weeks!

Punish those who challenge your dominance by declaring war on enemy clans, or mete justice with your sword in retribution to those who support your enemies! Or kill people just because you think they're dirty cheaters!

The best game you never heard of!

4.0 out of 5 stars BOTS EVERYWHERE WHAT TO DO, January 9, 2007

This review is from: Lineage II: The Epic Collection (CD-ROM)
I've played lineate2 for the past 2 years and over all its a grate game. i love it. the only problem with it is if you want to get anywher ein it it takes alot of time and the equiptment is expencive because bots control the market. a large part of the newer people playing the game use ebay. or some other company to buy there ingame money. this drives prices up. good game tho
