Book Description

0750687037 978-0750687034 March 13, 2008 1
This book enables design engineers to be more effective in designing discrete and integrated circuits by helping them understand the role of analog devices in their circuit design. Analog elements are at the heart of many important functions in both discrete and integrated circuits, but from a design perspective the analog components are often the most difficult to understand. Examples include operational amplifiers, D/A and A/D converters and active filters. Effective circuit design requires a strong understanding of the operation of these analog devices and how they affect circuit design.

This review is from: Linear Circuit Design Handbook (Hardcover)
Yes, this is an unabashed declaration for the use of Analog Devices components. However, it works for me. Most analog engineers and system engineers have used or considered using AD devices at one time or another. The good new is they make good stuff. Sure, I also use many of the competitors but I can always rely on AD for good, state of the art analog components. The book is well organized and written in a way that is easy to find what you need. This is not a compilation of PHD white papers. Many books are either to simplistic or written by a professor who may be great but has trouble getting to the point. Don't get me wrong some of my best friends are PHD's but sometimes I just need to get the thing working so I can move on. This book is like that. Each section shows me how the circuit works and pitfalls I need to be concerned about. The range of different applications and types of circuitry is impressive. Yes we live in a digital age but all starts as analog.......
