The Linebacker Operations were one of the more successful uses of airpower. Unfortunately, since they occurred in the latter stages of the Vietnam War, they have been overlooked. This book remedies this, with a daily account of the Linebacker II Operations and a thorough analysis and critique of the Operations. A must for anyone interested in studying both the Vietnam War and the use of airpower in general.

I read several books on the subject of Vietnam in classes, but this book really stood out. Many parts of the book are factual details, but certain stories are personal accounts of what happened. I used the book several times as a reference for papers, etc. and I would definitely recommend the story as a learning tool.

This inspiring view of the Linebacker campaign has prompted me to do more research in this study. However after looking for more literature, none had the detail and accuracy as this title. Lt Col Eschmann's military experience and first hand view of these times give him worthy credibility. I strongly recommend to anyone wanting to know more on this historical subject concerning our conflict in Vietnam.

This book was a purchase for my husband who flew in the Linebacker raids over North Vietnam. He found Linebacker to be historically accurate to the smallest details and in many cases surprised him with information he had not known during those difficult twelve days. Highly recommended to crew who participated in the bombing raids of Christmas 1972.
