Flight One Eighty swings around again!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lineup (Audio CD)
Flight One Eighty's special project, is all swing! Its old style swing as well. This is an excellent CD. One Eighty is not straying from their style here, they did this project just for fun. And I hope they do more of these projects, because this CD is one of the best out there!

Sing Sing Sing Everybody start to sing!,

This cd is a joy to listen to to from their version of "I wanna be like you" to "The Devil is Bad" This cd is great swing and rock lovers alike. Although it is a different style then their current style this cd is more swing and less rock. Compared to Boys and Girls. But this Fun music with a christian twist to it, a must for any Flight 180 fan.Enjoy!

Don't listen to the Slayer fan.,

I haven't actually heard this CD; I'm just writing this review to counterbalance Mr. "A music fan." Let me set the record straight: Slayer is a Satan-worshiping death-metal band. Flight 180 is a Christain swing/ska band. Anyone who enjoys Slayer is highly unlikely to appreciate brass instruments, let alone the melodies or harmonies or just plain awesomeness of ska music. Likewise, anyone who listens to Flight 180 or swing/jazz/ska music in general won't hear the "beautiful caucaphony" that many hear in hard-core and death-metal.In short, "A music fan," listen to your own music, don't buy CD's by bands you don't like, and let us listen to our own music. Or would you like us to start mocking Slayer?

I must say I really enjoy this cd. I purchased it a few years ago because I needed to fufil a deal with a cd club, and I had one of their earlier cds. I never really listened to it. When going to college, I brought all my cd's along. Popping this one in, I was pleasntly surprised by the music. It's great, feel good swing. A lot of songs are covers, but the originals are great to. 4 tracks are thier own, my favorite being "Old Man" If you like the 'Sing Sing Sing' stuff (which is on here) then this is the cd for you. If you like Slayer, then stay away. Trombones rock.

Quality Swing Music,
By A Customer

Flight 180 (formerly One Eighty) has proven that they can play more than Ska music, and play it well. The big-band sound is quality, they lyrics are clean, and the melodies are pleasant. It's danceable music, and fun to listen to. One of the things that really stands out on this album is the lead and harmony vocals -- both sung by chicks. This is unusual these days with the bands that are trying to recreate the retro sound, especially when the chicks aren't trying to be overly bawdy, sexy or drunk to appeal to the lustful youth of tomorrow. This album works because the chicks and music are classy. They cover a couple of Louis Prima tunes and a Stray Cats Classic. If you're looking for punk or grunge ska, check elsewhere. This is music. Real music.

Something different,
By A Customer

This is a special project from a band that started with a sound all their own. As a swing album in it's own right, this project shines, with but a single flicker: most of the material is not original. Putting that aside, this album was simply a joy to listen to. The melodies are upbeat, positive, and it doesn't seem to get old.

Flight 180: The answer for the question no one asked,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lineup (Audio CD)
I enjoy a variety of music, so i went to a Flight 180 show at my local community center and heard them live and I thought they were terrible, but I thought they might sound better on a actual CD...boy was I wrong. They were even worse. I honestly think they would be a decent band if they eliminated the trambone stylings of Dave(aka Sponsor Boy). The trambone is really out of place in this record. IF Flight 180 would release a non-trambone album, I would consider buying it. But until then, I think people should check out Slayer if they like this type of music. And NO..Slayer does not include a trambone in their intrumental line up. If you liked Fight 180's Lineup album you should also give a listen to Slayer's Reign in Blood, South of Heaven, and God Hates Us All albums. Slayer's musical talent is well and ranks high up there with bands such as Flight 180.
