Old school industrial with a sense of humor., April 20, 2002
This was several years ago that I was completely devoted to the industrial sound of Ministry and Nine Inch Nails. Sounds I still like today, but at that time they lacked one thing: a sense of humor.Enter the Revolting Cocks. Made up of who knows who out of Ministry and other related bands, the Revolting Cocks said to hell with it and released this album. Who said the music of noise always needed to sound so depressing? Gila Copter - Nice song with a beat you can dance to. Later I found out it was Tim Leary (that now dead hipster) grooving to that crazy beat. Mr. Lucky - "Hey, baby, didn't I see you at the Sizzler last night?" That's smooth. What else can you say? Crackin' Up - If you were lucky you might have seen the video for this played on MTV when they didn't know what they were doing. Fun song about rampant drug use. Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? - Everybody likes this song. I don't know why. It's a universal constant. The Rockabye - "Get your filthy hands off my ice cream." I've got strong memories about this song, but all you need to know is it's a grinding song sure to smooth out your blues. Linger Ficken' Good - The ulimate in vanity songs. A bitter member of the band points out all the other members faults to the tune of a porn lovin' backbeat. I've got to dig this album out and listen to this song all over again. ...
